Posted February 14, 2009 Report Share Posted February 14, 2009 Even I purchased a PS3 few months back for 16k but luckily it was from a guy in the same city *so a face to face deal* and paying anything above 3k for Online deal is strict NO-NO for me. I have had my share of fk ups where I delayed orders for a some GI members and I apologize because reading through your ordeal was really chilling and I can't imagine what others had to go through because of my laziness. Our 'D33P@K' was involved in this?!!!?!!! So happy everything worked out for you. He himself was involved for a scandal of fraud on TE. Btw if you have sufficient evidence both can be convicted for fraud and mis-representation under Sec (17) & (18) of the Indian Contracts Act, 1872 respectively also you can take fraud under IPC. I swear if the same happened to me, i would be kicking their balls one after another. With this in mind, i suggest the following changes to the rules and regulations for trading : 1) Post a pic along with your name and date of the item that you are selling 2) Bump the min posts to 100 3) An amount can be decided wherein the moderator will first need to approve after being satisfied that the deal is alrite when relatively new members are posting an expensive item for sale. Checks like bill can be used to reach to a conclusion regarding the offer being legit or not. I feel I am lucky in a way because i had pm'ed both Avinash and Sridhar regarding the PS3 deal but both said that the deal was already done. Although i feel the buyer should use his discretion while buying costly stuff from TP, why take the chance unless and until you know for sure that the seller isn't gonna scam you. He had 8 positive feedbacks on TE. and ppl might just do some small trades to build up trust or just give fake feedbacks. @ragz: i dont think any of the Rs.5000+ rules would work. even then, it's all i the hands of the buyer. He should be careful in order not to make any bad deals. @obaid: bhai..... i'm out of words to praise you at this moment... great job bro. @scorpioguy.... what's with the different colours in the OP ??? it looks wierd and is kinda annoying. just use italics and bold letters instead. And yes, as LA said, we should raise the TP entry posts from 50 to 100 or maybe even more. I know few innocent people would miss on the deals, but some steps do need to be taken if we have to get things on the right road. At the end of the day, there is no foolproof way to figure out if you're getting into a bad deal. A lot of positive feedbacks will surely help, but you should use your own judgement and deal with people. And yes, the 50 posts rule is redundant today. Everyday we see new members who just crap on every thread in sight to get to the 50 post limit. Even mods and admins can only do so much. If anyone notices a new member spamming relentlessly, he should immediately notify a mod and they should reset post counts. Some drastic steps have to be taken to curb such incidents, even if its at the cost of intimidating new members. The new members should understand that. I'd asked him to give it to Deepak because I've bought a 360(console only, without cables/controllers etc) from him and he is supposed to come down to Mysore on Sunday and personally give it to me. I've made the deal for Rs 7250/- which I've already transferred to his account. I went ahead with the deal after talking to Deepak and checking his trading post feedback. He seemed like a genuine guy.
