cool, so did you finish lost souls aside ?

I couldn't, the bosses are good but the regular enemies became repetitive. The whole level was to do nothing but running and clearing areas. The dragon like companion was annoying af, It's so that I played some parts of the game on mute. There was just one boss which was fantastic (the sword guy) he was in the initial trailer which I think the developer Yang Bing had it in mind since the beginning and that's why it was so good.

The no hand holding approach of this game seems very interesting 🤔

It is, the exploration and solving mysteries are the best part, it's not like generic go here and fetch or mundane puzzles. It just tosses you into this gloomy, war-torn mess and basically says, “Good luck, Sherlock, Find your own way.” Figuring out to help an NPC actually feels the sense of 'pride and accomplishment"

Don't take this as a 'souls' game. You can customize difficulty at your convenience. Combat isn't tough at all.

Atmosphere: is so dark. Really dark. Its what the title says. And so thick you could slice it out of thin air. It confronts you with the human abyss that peeks deep into your soul.

How is the combat in this game? I was reading Reddit review thread and most of the negative comments were around combat.

Its merely decent combat gameplay, not complicated, soulslike or flashy, it's just fast, brutal, and satisfying too I'd say
The finishers are so savage I laughed and cringed at the same time, like watching a horror movie but with swords
There are bunch of weapons to choose from, so whether you want to stab, smash, or just mess stuff up, you’re covered.

The game actually excels as an exploration game with an amazing sense of atmosphere.

Again, it's not your typical handholding game, game will test your focus and memory skills, DON'T LOOK FOR SOLUTIONS ON INTERNET. It diminishes the essence of this game. Also, don't think this is a puzzle solving game it's more like a thriller and mystery.

One of the most impressive things is the performance: despite being built on Unreal Engine 5, I honestly couldn’t find anything to complain about in that regard.

This game keeps on getting better each level, i recommend this game to the players that want to think, explore and if you are exhausted (like me) from modern/ubislop gaming. I just came across some mind boggling truth/reveal in the story, I did not predicted this.

Completed it Silent Hill and Control had a baby, this is what it would look like. Exploration, story, lore, and music are all excellent. No map. No giant quest arrows telling me where to go. No hints when I'm stuck. The game expects me to explore and figure it out, it was a fantastic experience. If your favourite part of Elden Ring was running around, seeing the sights, finding goodies, and learning the lore, then you'll love this game.

If your favourite part of Elden Ring was only the combat, then I wouldn't recommend it.
