He was a capitalist, had great PR, helped the company involved in Bhopal Gas Tragedy escape fine and punishment, and his PR has done an amazing job to ensure everybody only remembers him for good. Capitalist will be capitalist. Honestly, I don't even care about him but some people are putting him next to God without even knowing how rich got rich. Ratan Tata was humble and donated majority of his money to trust. We can always search start nit picking stuff to found flaws in people. JRD TATA was incharge then. He offered his engineers to helped build the plant. You should blame Congress more who helped Union Carbide Chairman to get away without arrest than Tata. Ratan tata is different person and we talking about him as person and what he did as Chairman after JRD expired and not what his father did. Should we blame you forever if your father did anything wrong in life? Ratan tata did lot of good for country and common public. But Congress party supported Union carbide ceo and covered up entire thing. That's one thing, people use to attack TATA group. Look, all business houses are involved in some politics and some shady stuff to grow their business. Its common everywhere. You cant become billionaire without political support. We all know JRD tata used to get political support from congress back then. Ratan tata himself as a person was genuinely respected by everyone and i have not heard anyone say otherwise. I mean unless you look really hard and search maybe you will find something but some people here are acting as he was evil person and did more bad than good. The real individual culprits were no where in the picture 23 years later……it was more of negotiable gesture to make things move ahead in progressive way amidst the negative sentiments. Next with the announcement of M$ going fully multiplatform & ditching Middle East & Indian Subcontinent for hardware (Entire South Asia & Japan next) even the Console Wars are dead!!
