Fire in the hole --- Airtel's Fair Usage Policy

I get around 45kbps most of the time on a 256 UL plan (not airtel), so its possible I guess. But this is what my speed test shows-

no dude youve got the 384kbps plan...the funny thing is the 256 plan users used to pay 1200 per month but when the rates went down the 384 users started paying 1200...so airtel actually decreased their rates but you pay the same amount only for a higher speed....airtel didnt ask the customers if they wanted to pay less for 256 instead they just gave you a faster spped for the same amount without telling you...it happened to me and to the guy who lives upstairs.....so pople who get like 45kbps DL speed and think they are on a 256 plan are mistaken because actually airtel has just made your connection faster for the same fee....

so basically when the rates of all the unlimited plans decreased airtel didnt tell you to pay less but just gave you a faster connection for the previous fee you were paying

Yes, I just realized that when checking their site and was going to post it. :)

Im not using Airtel, but you are correct on what happened. Only difference being that my ISP completely removed the 256 option and I pay 1k, not 1200.

oh i thought you were using airtel...which connection are you on...how much would you have to pay to get 512 from your broadband service provider?

384- 880 + tax, 512- 1350 + tax. But the ISP (Asianet) is only available in Kerala.
