(A)Kira
I've decided on a 7 button stick. 4 on top and 3 on bottom. The four on top for KOF and Tekken and the top 3+bottom 3 for street fighter, I can map the 7th button according to the character I'm playing. I'm basing it on this design minus the 8th button. (A)Kira
Bought wood for it. I went with MDF. But sadly two of the pieces they cut weren't straight and made the top wobbly Luckily I had enough extra wood to make two extra pieces with. Still have some excess in case something else goes wrong. Now onto painting it. I'm painting it black and I remember reading somewhere that you should use slow drying paint so that the strokes smooth out. And then sandpaper and apply another coat. Or is any other paint recommended?
(A)Kira
Encouragement came today. Even though the pic showed a pink ball top, it was nice of the seller to give me both yellow after me asking him. And it came in less than a week after shipping with no customs. Lucky me. Shadoken
Shadoken, I have a question about modding. I just obtained a Round 2 TE for 6k and I want to dual mod it now. Sadly every PCB I looked at is not compatible with it coz the stick is last gen now. Can you suggest what PCB to use? Sent from my dumb phone What console you bought for? You have two options , either you can buy the other consoles PCB and throw in a switch. Or you can remove the existing PCB and throw in an AkiShop Custom PS360 PCB that will work for both PS3 and 360. You might wanna wait till next gen consoles come out , so that you can future proof it with those systems too. Right now nobody knows what PCBs will work with PS4/XB1

(A)Kira
I've finished attaching the pieces of wood and have marked the holes. Going to get it cut today. Hope to get it done in a week or so if all goes well.

(A)Kira
Finished cutting out the pieces, and have fixed the buttons and just have to screw in the stick to complete the top. And I've decided against a picture for the top of my stick. Instead going for some bold lines/ splattered yellow on black.
Shadoken
There seems to be too much spacing between the buttons? Also whats the little gap in the joystick for? Great work btw. are you using a dual modded pcb?
(A)Kira
The gap is just for the wires to attach to the pcb, the wires are are stiff at the beginning, and i didn't want them to bend. And I marked out on the board where I would normally place my fingers, and came out with that. Plus I didn't want the holes to be too close for fear of it breaking when making them, and since it's MDF it would come out in flakes and chunks so I wouldn't be able to glue it back either. But anyway, my fingers feel "right" when I place them at that distance. And yes the PCB will work on PS3/ PC, but i don't play on PC often. Shadoken
ah I see , you also might wanna cover the wood with some artwork now itself , before finalizing stuff. Otherwise you ll have to pull out everything again. plus you could cover up that gap too.well. You gonna use like laminated paper or something? (A)Kira
I think i'll tinker with some photoshop and print on some glossy paper. I want to top it with acrylic glass, but I'm not sure how I would drill it. I guess i need some specialized drill bits.

(A)Kira
Is this a good button config? For KOF as well as SF. I'm replacing the R2 with L1 though.
Shadoken
just follow standard Madcatz Design .... the first 6 buttons are set to default in most fighters.
