Doobz
Well what i wanted to say is , we shuld have a proportionate ratio between the post and the amount of the deal a person can go through with. For eg. 50 - 500 posts - You can purchase and sell stuff upto Rs 2,000 500 - 1000 posts - You can purchase and sell stuff upto Rs 5,000 1000 - 1500 posts - You can purchase and sell stuff upto Rs 10,000 1500 - 2,000 posts - You can purchase and sell stuff upto Rs 15,000 and So on. This is just so that people cannot fool members and steal a high amount , like in the case of scorpio.
TechGuitar
^^ Dont think it would be very helpful. In any case the number of people who are actually "frauds" are very very very few....even fewer than the spammers. And people like D33P@k were above 1k posts and senior members. So i dont think it makes a point. In fact it will be more of a pain in the a*s for the genuine buyers. Edit: You mean this only for the seller right ??? TechGuitar
Looks at this Positive feedback = 1779 Neutral = 1 Negative = 23 (In GI's entire life) Even in the negative feedback, members like Hahaman, lastavenger and to some extent TuFnUt are pretty active members. And negative feedback is not necessarily "fraud" So should this rule be applied for the 16 frauds negative feedback members ??

Joy
Stopping a fraud is not possible I guess if a member intends to do so , when even a senior members like Deppak can fraud , no rules can stop them. Buying and selling on all the tech forums are done on the basis of trust these days , I guess you have to be unlucky to come across a fraud , as fraud cases on GI are a lot less when compared to TE. Mods have to decide what's the best way to tackle it , maybe increase the post count required even more , that might increase spamming even more , its a tricky matter. m-JeRi
Its online guys... There are limits to the restriction..there is always a way... like use PM then its upto the buyer..and his urgency to sell... In the end it just depends on the buyer and seller.... My first deal with Athek...about a year or so.... i bought one without paying.... and he gave it to me.... He trusted me.... and i was stupid not to take advantage of him... TechGuitar
But little person he dint sell it with his d33pak id now did he , he made a new one with barely 200 posts But even if that person with barely 200 posts puts something for sale for Rs.1000 .... he will do the fraud even at that value. So the post limit rule definitely wont prevent frauds.
blackheart2925
hey team... i was curious about a couple of things, so here goes... 1. i keep on wondering from time to time, how GI came into existence, what do the mods do for a living, are you guys part of the some concern, say, gaming magazine...etc...so if you have a page or a thread where you talk about GI, introduce the oldest members etc...i think people would appreciate reading and knowing more about GI... 2. i was also thinking how do you get funding for the site? i mean i havent seen any ads here and am not sure if they pay anything and also i dont know if affiliation gets you any money... why i am asking is that cause i like this place, i like the people, the discussions...and i would be happy to pay some small amount as my contribution towards the maintenance of this place, voluntarily...maybe some other members of the site also feels similar... i know, asking members for any kind of payments is a thorny issue AND a lot of the guys here are kids who not earning yet...but speaking for myself, the days of using pirated stuff is long behind me, cause now i can afford to pay (else i wait till i can) and i understand the effort which goes into developing games, stuff etc and i have been saddened when some of the smaller game producing studios closed down due to lack of funding...so to show my appreciation of the work you are doing, i would be happy to pay towards the upkeep of the site... regards

Bulovski
@blackheart - good man with good questions. The typical GI Admin = bunch of nerds who refuse to grow up. They were glasses, still retain their first zit, wear tortoiseshell glasses and carry around 15 pens of different colours in their front shirt pocket. The shirt is a button down check. They also think that Dreamcast will make a return. The typical GI Moderator = bunch of nerds who will never grow up. They were glasses, still haven't started shaving (and never will), are whiny emo kids, retain their braces, fire off meaningless diatribes. They all worship Chun Li. The oldest member is a lie, he does not exist.
