Shantz Posted November 12, 2009 Report Share Posted November 12, 2009 Best way to search would be through google.. e.g. if searching for batman in trading post, you can do something like this "site:http://www.indianvideogamer.com/forums/index.php?showforum=3 intitle:batman" that is how i do it.. very effective.. though inurl: would be better as site: still tries to look into other sections but it doesn't work somehow.. Every week we get a new spammer trying to bat his way to 50 with non stop bumping of old thread (there is one doing it as I write this). Maybe 7-14 days to deter the spamming. 93bullets Posted November 14, 2009 Report Share Posted November 14, 2009 well instead of the post limit we can have a certain time limit that a person should remain online on ivg to access TP as posting on threads is comfortably achieved but being online on ivg for 20odd hours or so will be a real effort more over spamming will be of no use and people may only write sensible and useful posts... Yeah he could still spam in 14 days but chances are that spam is gonna be spread over a time period of 14 days and not just bumping old threads and saying "Good game." within an hour. Even the 'How many ps3s, x360s and Wii's' threads... +1Also pin the PC ask the experts thread. Its the most used thread in there anyway. In fact only 3 threads in there should be fine. 1 Xbox general queries, PS3 general queries and PC ask the experts. Maybe the gaming PC's one too.
