Over at the Codemasters forums, Gavin “Uncle Chewy” Raeburn, CM’s Exec Producer, posted the first “render” shot from their new development, F1 2009. The track depicted in the shot is the Spa-Francorchamps race track. The are using prototype laser scanning software to render their tracks, and it has resulted in the picture below.

Its Spa-Francorchamps

Laser scanning allows for a higher level of accuracy, rather than using GPS type scanners.

F1 2009 eagerly waiting for this game. Fuel in May and CM Dirt2 in September according to some sites. I really hope they can release this game by August :raygun: and that shot from laser scan is cool but they should soon release a proper screenshot. According to f1.com 30hrs and some hrs are left for 1st practice session. By that time they have to show something proper :slugshoot:

So Formula 1 2009 on Wii and PSP is looking like a serious prospect, but we can't help but be curious about next year's instalment that's to hit the more powerful platforms. Is what we've seen of Formula 1 2009 indicative of what to expect for 2010's game? "There is a longer term plan, but for now we just want to focus on this one," says Wakelam, although a single presentation slide outlines the direction that Formula 1 2010 is going to take. 'Be the Driver, Live the Life' is the slogan suggesting that the engaging career modes that have marked out Codemasters recent efforts such as GRID and DiRT will play a part in the game.
