gecko89
I'll personally stick with what devs recommend, first person view. But it's great that they're giving the choice on release, instead of a patch later down the line.
Ne0
For re4 styled games it’s ok…. But if it’s anything like re2/re3 , playing in first person is a recipe for heart attack ! Hard pass if that’s the case !

Historically. RE survivor and Action games used to release separately with numbered games being Action oriented while Spin offs more focused on survival elements. RE 1-6 Action focused with 1-2 slightly more tilt towards survival RE non numbered games like Revelations 1-2, Code Veronica etc are more survival games. They changed this with RE 7-8 and made them a complete survivalal horror first person games. I would personally prefer both like old times. Although, I didn't like RE 7 much, will give it another go sometime.
Zod
I believe Ash sections will be similar to that mansion level in RE8. And i bet she will be chased by some unkillable monster during whole game

In Re2, its mostly Mr X chasing you around whole game lol. RE7 and that one level in 8 are far more scarier.

RE7 wasn’t really a traditional RE game I agree but it was much needed to bring back the franchise on the roadmap…& it did. Don’t think of the past RE games while playing it….it is one awesome experience. Something that PT(Kojima’s vision of Silent HillS)could have been. There were lot of jump scares, but still it was not as scary as Silent Hill, Alone in the dark, Condemned and all Imo. Silent Hill is constant horror. It keeps you on edge entire time you playing the game.

Haven't played the remake yet but the originals were constant horror, radio static for enemies closeby was a genius choice, knowing somethings nearby but hideen in the fog. RV1709
Them saying Leon isn’t in the game because he won’t be jumpy to horror given his experience sounds like a red herring. you can’t do raccoon city and not have at least one primary character connected to that place

The most popular RE games (2 and 4) have Leon as the lead
