Her guys, i am doing MBA program in UK , for the final semester i need to prepare a dissertation(20,000 words) on a company/area of interest. Those who have already done MBA will understand the importance of this piece of final coursework.

I have chosen a Topic related to gaming in India, but cannot disclose the topic due to fear of plagiarism.

I need to give , references of at least 50 books/journals/newspaper so provide the evidence of originality, the only problem is there is no such magazine or journals on gaming in India in our Universities E library or the Physical library, and our uni's library is amongst the biggest in Europe.

So right now, i need help from you guys. If you guys have any piece of article that discusses anything about , Xbox 360, PS3 or Nintendo Wii...........i request you to let me know abt it, also keep the magazine/journal/newspaper in good condition , untill i come back to india.

AFAIK, the xbox 360 was covered in a chip or digit magazine abt 2 years back when 360 was abt to be launched in india does any 1 has a copy of it?

I request you guys again, any peice of information on any of the console, with relation to india will be very useful for me.

i am already in touch with one of our admins who is helping me alot in this research but i would be needing more help from you guys, therefore i request you friends to help me in this piece of research.

* The actual work on the dissertation will start only in the month of november-december 2009 , but i need to submit the research proposal (for which i will get marks) on 26th of march.

*The people contributing thier knowledge to this research will be adequately compensated(if required)

* The professor has already selected my topic as one of the best topic of the classroom due to its originality and uniqueness, so plz dont let me down GI.

and finally , plz spare this thread from the toilet/bending humor

Digit usually has pdfs of all its old editions in the DVD.

On another note, be sure about making this as your dissertation topic GS. Me and a friend of mine are both huge gaming freaks and we tried to do a project on this, but it is pretty tough making a 20000 word report on this. Of course you cant just fill in word here and there. And since it is a good university "Google definitely cannot be your best friend". Just my 2 cents. but if you are going ahead with it, i will try and help and get you some good research material if possible.

Digit 7th anniversary edition has a special mini magazine on Gamming which includes a roundup on Graphic Cards, Consoles and Games. The main issue of the same I think had an article about fanboys.

The August 2008 issue has an article at pg. 99 about Pro gaming and taking gaming as a career. It also includes two short interviews on gamers who tried to take that option.

Digit fast track #10 is on "Fast track to Gaming" and should contain something useful to you.

You should also find plenty of such articles in Skoar and a few in Digit and Chip. But overall its very hard to find books about gaming in India.

yea googling is not proving to be of much help, but i ve made the topic a bit broad and precise at the same time, so i can include loads of "extra words", I would have never picked up this topic if it were not for GI, one of the admin has already guided me a lot on the shape of the coursework, another main reason for focussing on the indian scene is that, i will get to spend 3 months in India.

Also i dont know about anything else, my family business is on metal trading and processing , there is no secondary data available for it. and the university is not ready to accept a Project on indian political scenario  , so gaming is the only other thing i have knowledge abt.

Any help, will be very useful to me so plz contribute to the research :D

I dunno man but imo you should have selected some other topic on which you can find a lot of content or matter. I write atleast 3-4 research papers every semester consisting of 5k words each. They are submitted over a website called www.turnitin.com and is checked for plagiarism. We use Harvard Blue Book citation manual for citations. Anyway i mentioned the above thing to show how serious my work is too.

I think you might not find a lot of matter since gaming is in a very nascent stage but if you choose to work on this how about using Skoar magazines ? They seem to cover a lot of gaming related stuff and you might find a lot of content.

How about checking with your seniors to see what topics they had researched on or if you wanna do gaming, select something like UK or Japan or US. I would go with Japan since its very interesting to research on their gaming habits. They seem to be not following a very fixed pattern which makes it all the more interesting.

Also you can look around tech2.in and can cite their stuff too. Also avoid citing stuff from blogs or Wikipedia, they are cheap sources of information.

Good Luck dude!

we use the same software "turnitin" the reason why i choose this topic is coz of this shitty software...............coz the program looks for similar words and catch phrase, and then it gives out the Percentage of similarity, for us anything more then 10-15 % similarity. then the project is as good as dead. The refrencing style we use is "Harvard coventry" style

So i have chosen a unique and very specific topic instead of being vague(My topic was selected as amongst the best 3 by my prof)..........i cannot mention the topic over here for Obvious reason's, but it is something related to gaming business in india, so i can only use trade info, not the gaming scene in India, i doubt tht Skoar does any, or does it?

Many members have offered their assistance , and to be honest if it were not for GI, i would have never selected the topic, loads of member are helping me out.

i wanted to do something tht really interests me rather then taking a dry topic and doing it just for the sake of it.......and the only options for me were gaming or my family business, and there is even lesser Secondary data for later. thts y i decided on gaming, as there will be plenty of primary data available.

(btw wht citation software do u use? have u ever tried ENDNOTE? i need some help with this bugger software)

EDIT: we are allowed to use WiKi, but not quote it directly, we have to find the reference entry of wiki and then use the original source for reference
