Hot-Drake-Pixel
I still prefer external HDD over TVersity. Anyways, PS3 is a superb multimedia device. There is no doubt about it. Watching Tranformer BD again, now.

There is no doubt about it.Watching Tranformer BD again, now. Yeah I use a external WD Passport 250GB HDD to store HD movies and watch on my PS3 , it looks better on PS3 than on pc even though my pc handles HD movies fine , as the upscaling of the PS3 is awesome... Jigsaw
I give up. Tversity is detected so are the folders but not their contents. This is just getting messy. I'm going back to the old fashioned transfer using the iPod. Grrrr
HundredProofSam
1. in tvsersity, you need to manually add folders from your PC to tversity's media library 2. once you've done that, refresh the library 3. right-click on the tversity icon in the system tray and click "start sharing" then try watching on the PS3...its really quite simple....it'll make you wonder why u ever bothered with external devices peace

Jigsaw
Joy, the pc needs to be ON. To everyone, managed to get the movies detected n play but there's way too much choppiness and the audio & video go out of sync. Not worth it for me and my dastard Pc. Thanks to everyone who tried to help.
pshycadelic
ohk ive been using media server since the day my ps3 arrived figured that out wen i connected my ps3 with my pc through netgear....ohk 4 months back i downloaded ps3 media server which in my opinion is the best streaming software ever....it can play all sorts of media be it mkv, avi ne thing u want......it even transcodes files which the wmp serever cannot play and its the best for watching bluray 720p files(mkv)......for sd movies i use wmp coz its a bit faster than that but if ur watching 720p HD go for ps3 media server...... Plus it supports almost all the video files . Heck I havent yet found a vid which it doesnt stream. Best part it also streams HD videos (mkv files). I have used tversity also but i switched over to PS3 media server because of the above mentioned reasons . Give it a try and decide for yourself which is better. Doobz
I put an avi from my computer onto the ps3.... and it looked simply awesome on the ps3. Tried the same with few other movies in avi format and they all look wayy better on the ps3. What exactly does the ps3 do?? upscale??I have a retarded amd3200 pc with no graphics card... is that why?? Secondly this is noobish, but how do u guys transfer media from your computer to the ps3? I do it in a clunky way... first put the stuff on an ipod and then connect the ipod to the ps3 and copy over. dud learn to speak english , its why not how
