dont buy any intercooler or stuff............it will probably ruin u r console.........just keep the console in an open space, dont keep it in a confined area and u should be good........if possible buy a simple table fan and place it somewhere around 360 not behind though.

I've had my 2nd 360 for a little over a year now. A few things I learnt after the first heart-burn, always place it vertical. That way both the sides get ventilation. As the others said, keep it in a well ventilated place.

Also when u switch on the 360, dont jump into the game rightaway. Let it remain at the dashboard for a good 15 mine. Also once you are done playing, exit back to the dashboard and let it stay there for 30 mins. This way it doesn't overheat too quick and the hot air inside gets enough time to be expelled from within.

I vacuum the vents once a week to make sure no dust or soot or whatever clogs up the ventilation holes. A lil hug and a kiss would go a long way too

For those of you hwo think intercoolers are bad .. plz knw first then comment ... this is my 2nd console .... hav had this intercooler with me for abt 1 yer nw ... never made a problem except a littel noise . ( i wont gurantee that this avoids rrod but certainly keeps 360 cool ) .

Mine is kept horizontal ( lying 180 (( am still confuse with vertical and horizontal meaning )) ) i have a thick book under it keeping alll the holes open ... i.e avove down + left right

but still am very scared of it gettting rrod ... is it true that all 2006 models will get rrod or if u keep in gud ventilated place it can b avoided .??

Sorry, I really couldn't help. This is not the way you cool off your stuff man.

Now you should be really scared of RROD, cuz chances of getting a replacement from MS is absolutely zilch.

Just keep it properly ventilated and open from all the sides.

And please apply following mod to your console because it really needs luck...a lot of it

lol to that

i still have my warranty .. as i said this is my 2nd console ... i took off my warranty sticker by the hair dryer trick as on youtube not even a scratch on it ... after that i put my new xbox 360 board in the old case to protect the new one so that nuthing happens to it .. i then cut the old steel case on left and right to make more room for air .

this way i also have my sticker with me.

We know by now to NEVER keep your 360 in an enclosed space.

One additional point is to not let the rear of the 360 face the wall. Keep it sideways, so there's copious amounts of breathing space.

Full marks if you can position it such that there's a minimum 3-4 feet distance between the wall and the 360 on all sides.
