Alan Wake

All I'm trying to say is if there is as much detail as in the shots then there will surely be draw distace issues as in GTA 4 with the 360 and vice versa.....

c'mon MT.....UC2 is a ps3 title.....How can we compare it with the 360's performance.....

Did you read my previous post? As for draw distances check out ACII. Give me a solid technical reason that Alan Wake cannot do UC2 graphics because one is one 360 and the other is on PS3. And no, "because i think so" is not a valid reason.

So you are saying... *gasp* .. that the PS3 is more powerful than the X360?

These flame wars will never end. As long these consoles are alive, we will always have these posts in every good-looking game thread :P !

Anyways, Found this at Neogaf, Pretty interesting for people who love to say how powerful the new consoles are :

I find it kinda ironic how a lot of the textures in Alan Wake (even when presented in bullshot form) can't match up to a game Remedy created some some 7 years ago. :/

Textures in 2003(Max Payne 2):

Textures in 2010 (Alan Wake):

My PC 7 years ago was still more powerful I say :P ! Yeah *gasp*....more powerful than the X360.....and wait the ps3 too  ! lol

actually, no. the 360 has a tri core processor. tri core processors aren't in the market for PCs even now. and it's PowerPC, not intel. the only thing more powerful would be your graphics card.

oh.and the less said about the 'power' of the ps3 the better :P

Oh Gawd  ! Please spare me ur wisdom , Sir ! I am sure you are much much mightier than me, I am sure of that.

Lets just see how pretty the textures of Max Payne 2 were, and Alan Wake has poorer textures even though it is releasing 7 years later, and that too by the same company. I posted that as a matter of fact. An amusing fact, my lord.

There is definitely something wrong with your visual comprehension ability.

From what angle are the textures worse than Max Payne 2? :ko:

Really MT  ? If you had said that Alan Wake has vast environments and MP2 had small rooms thats the reason for the difference, coupled with MP2 being on PC and Alan Wake on consoles, I would have expected that. As the comparison does not really say anything but that MP2 on PC had amazingly high res textures for its time.

But, you are just denying the fact :P that is visible right there in front of you in those images!

Even Heavy Rain doesn't have any scene with as detailed pretty textures as that screen of MP2, though HR is a constrained experience.

I am not trying to show ur favourite game in bad light, people, it was a harmless comparison of how good the textures were for a 7 year old game by the same studio which is making Alan Wake now !

Max Payne 2:

Alan Wake(A screen with more light ) :

But Alan is on a console with limited memory and has big open places, unlike MP2 with small rooms and more memory on PC. Also, HDR lighitng , Post processing, and all the new bells an whistles are in.

It could have been simple, but you have to doubt my eyes now :P !
