There are some very interesting tidbits in there that should make every PlayStation fan very happy should they pan out to be true. Here's the latest: New 80gb PS3 bundled with 2 games will be launched at the end of March.it will cost 399$ (already confirmed).- New 40gb ps3 sku will be launched this May. The cost will be 299$. - PSP slide will be shown for the first time in this year's E3. The launch is next year. - The currently available PSP model will get a price cut too. The cost will be 119$. - Fumito Ueda will be there at GDC '09. He will announce 2 projects. One of them is Shadow of the Colossus Online. - Syphon Filter is underway to PS3. Apparently the developers are using the same engine behind Killzone2. - Insomniac is developing a new action platformer RPG. It looks like a Zelda clone. - Jak 4 is on the way too. - Daxter 2 will be ready at the time of PSP slide launch. - Legend of Dragoon is under development and is to be launched in japan this year. These are being reported as rumors, nothing more, so until GDC has come and gone take them with a grain of salt. Very exciting if true, however! 2 new games from ICO??? If you've been keeping up with the industry, you're eagerly anticipating this week's Game Developers Conference. And although we can't say that any of the following is possible, we'd like to think that a few of these rumors are plausible. A list of GDC rumors has surfaced over at PlayStation Insider, and there's plenty to chew on. They talk about the new 80GB PlayStation 3 bundle featuring MotorStorm and Resistance: Fall of Man, which we've already seen evidence of, and then it moves on into a big one: the possibility of a 40GB PS3 that will launch this May with a price of $299. If true, that's a biggie, but let's not discount the supposed unveiling of the PSP Slide and a corresponding price drop for the current PSP model. We certainly believe that a new Syphon Filter is on the way, although we had no idea it would be using the Killzone 2 engine, and there's mention of Insomniac's new project. Could it really be a platformer/RPG like the Zelda titles on the N64...? But the two rumors that caught our eye was the Shadow of the Colossus Online theory, and the weird report that "Legend of Dragoon is under development." For the former, it seems like an odd choice and we'd much rather have a true sequel and for the latter, we have to assume they're talking about either a full-on remake a second title. RPG fans have been hoping for a new LoD since the original released on the PlayStation a decade ago, so could this be the news they've been waiting for? The game was initially supposed to have co-op ueda even showed a trailer. And 40gb ps3 is not happening. Even if the price drops to 299 the hdd will still be a 80gig one. Only one to have a conference is nintendo and going by their past record i wont expect much from them anyway. kojima also has a vision conference but that shd mostly deal with his ideas on game development and the announcement of mgs4 on the 360 .
