Hi Guys...I was wondering if anyone has experienced overheating of the PS3 specifically while playing Battlefield Bad Company ? (Yeah I know it's an old game and all but I just started playing it ...:-))...funnily even KZ2 , FarCry 2 and MGS4 don't give me this problem...but within 10 minutes of Battlefield starting , I can hear the PS3 exhaust fan going into overdrive and frequently the PS3 gives me the overheating message and I need to turn it off. Very strange .

Hi guys,

I was wondering if this is a common issue faced by many??? I read in another post somewhere, that the ps3 started getting hot while playing Killzone2. Is this normal??? Im worried, as i just got a ps3 yesterday (new 80gb one) and i bought it as i thought it was way superior, performance wise, than the other console from microsoft.

It is still under warranty but the strange thing is it only happens with BFBC no other game seems to trigger this ..I've played Resistance , Uncharted , even the newer ones like KZ2 etc.. but pop in battlefield and whirrrrrrrrrrrr goes the cooling fan and then after a while beep beep beep....

A PS3 external fan is also available, not sure if its available in India! I am getting one for myself just in case.

PS: I have a feeling this year the summer is going to be very bad!

Yeah...seems like summer will be bad!! Its already getting so hot so early in the year. Is the external fan really required??? Worst case, we can use the PS3, with the Air-Conditioner running. (PS3 + A/C = Big Fat Electriciy bill  )

Where do u keep ur PS3,dont put it in an enclosed space, give it room to breathe!!

I am sure u keep ur PS3 in closed area. Keep it in open space. PS3 never overheats BELIEVE

Yes - open space, ensure there's a 2-3 foot gap on all sides. Especially the right and the rear.
