^^ Thanks KG.

Just one thing, when playing PSX games, where are the L2 / R2 buttons mapped on the PSP ?

Well, the L2 and the R2 buttons are assigned as default to push on Left Analog Stick and Right Analog Stick respectively, although you can change these settings. Just press Home when the game is running, go to Controller Settings and select Assign Buttons and select whichever type you think suits you more :P

MAJOR EDIT: Guys, I did a mistake. You need to put the PSone Eboot file in msROOT/PSP/GAME/{Name of Game Folder}/

For example if you have Road Rash (which I actually do :(), it'll go in X:\PSP\GAME\Road Rash. If you fail to put it in the game's name folder, then it won't show up on the XMB.

Initial post has been edited to avoid confusion :(

so that means we have to control the character with the d-pad... that's a bit messy.. i hope these controls can be reversed and left and right d-pad can be used for L2 and R2 buttons. btw downloading MGS1 eboot file now. nostalgia here i come.

dammit. i downloaded and wanted to play the game but when it is abt to start the screen goes black and i cant play the game. what the f**k is wrong?

Its always recommended to download/play the NTSC version of a particular game coz AFAIK there is some problem with emulation of PAL games, but am not entirely sure on this. Other than that, it might just be a bad conversion/compression from PSX to PSP eboot ;)

Where did you get it from ? If its a good source then, are there any people who posted some results with that eboot file ? Are they able to play it ?

You know, I would recommend you to download a fresh NTSC copy of that particular game from snesorama. Just google "snesorama" and "name of PSone game" and you should get links to download a PSone image. Download it and convert it using the software I've posted :D

Lemme know how it goes :)

yes the source of download is good and where i downloaded i directly got the eboot file. but cant get it to work. i read the comments related to my download and figured that there is some problem playing some PSX games on 3.90 M-33 (3.80 M33 as well). i might need a 3.71 popsloader to play the game according to them. gotta try this now. will let u know the results soon. and yes i will surely try the sites u gave me and i ve already downloaded that software. thanks a million

PSP Custom Firmware 3.95 GEN

French-based homebrew developer Miriam has released custom firmware 3.95 GEN for the PSP, touting full support for 3.X kernel based homebrew applications, as well as an integrated in-XMB recovery menu. For the complete changelog, hit the break.

General

* Kernel updated to 3.95 (new nids, patches, etc).

Recovery

* Option added in recovery to choose between VSHMenu and in-XMB recovery.

* Option added in recovery to choose from Sony, GEN and M33 Network Update modes.

XMB

* Access VSHMenu / recovery menu via XMB with the SELECT button.

Note that the 1.5 kernel add-on from previous M33 releases is not compatible with 3.95 GEN and at least 3.71 M33 firmware must be installed beforehand.

Additionally, numerous reports suggest that the built-in PSone emulator does not function properly, though an updated popsloader is included to allow prior versions of the emulator to run. That being said, we’d recommend that all users create a basic Pandora setup so that you can easily downgrade back to 3.90 M33 in case the firmware is not running as expected.

Full installation instructions are available in the included readme file and a download link for the firmware 3.95 EBOOT can be found below.
