Aftrunner
Not many spoilers TBH but it does show some new equipment and bosses so I suppose you are better off without seeing it. To summarize Train tracks replace boat (duh) but getting around on a train doesnt require constant input (yay!) 20 hours campaign (I seriously doubt it). More if you try for the 100%. Controls largely the same except for some refinement. Central temple no longer on a timer (thank god for that) Central temple has less repetition (again thank god for that) Less filler Average MP And all in all generally an improvement on PH in almost every single way. Sounds like they are onto something great this time around.
KeezNah
That actually sounds inciting enough for me to HATE HATE HATE myself for not buying this right now, but oh well gonna have to settle for the ever-growing backlog. When/where are you getting this, Afty?
Aftrunner
Palika probably. Will try my luck in a couple of weeks time.
KeezNah
I seriously would not trust that place for DS game purchases. It's too easy for them to carry fake carts and not give a f**k if you've been sold one because they'll argue that it's being "distributed" the same way (since they can't tell the f**king difference anyhow). Even some shops like Maya Toys have been carrying them. If you don't see a distributor's sticker slapped anywhere, bail out. Otherwise Play-Asia :/
Aftrunner
Hmm. I dont wanna touch PA though. I have heard way too many horror stories of people waiting for weeks to get a game. I have a friend who is heading over to the US during the Christmas-New year break. He is supposed to pick up a Wii for me so I guess getting ST from him makes more sense. Problem is the f**ker is still not sure if he is going. Maybe we will luck out like Chinatown wars and the game will actually release here. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
KeezNah
To my knowledge, Chinatown Wars DS was never officially release either. That was just some ruse started by Rishi
Aftrunner
LOL. Its true actually, I saw copies in 2-3 shops. Music world (saket) had em. As did Neoplanet in Vasant vihar (a friend actually bought it from there). The saket shop has a pretty decent collection of DS titles.
KeezNah
Could be the case then, I've seen some releases from a certain Mumbai distro (can't remember their name). But Nintendo published titles seem like the least likely games to come here officially, much less retail at fair prices.
Aftrunner
Yeah I dont think I have seen any Ninty titles here so I wouldnt hold my breath. Guess I am not playing this one in 2009. Unless...... Yar and Avast me Hardies! Pull the anchor ya landlubber vermin!
Aftrunner
So played around for an hour and so and its pretty decent so far. Nothing outstanding but nothing has pissed me off either. Drove the train as well and I can tell thats gonna get on my nerves pretty fast. :/
KeezNah
So the story is a direct continuation of Phantom Hourglass?
K'dash
^^ I want to know that too...never finished Phantom Hourglass..
Aftrunner
Not as far as I can tell. None of the PH characters have made an appearance and AFAIK this takes place 100 years after PH. Its more classical Link and Princess Zelda this time around. Having sunk about 5-6 hours in the game I am beginning to love it. The dungeons are smarter and better designed than PH. The central temple is no longer on a timer and when you have to revisit it you can straight away go to the next floor instead of having to go through the same sh*t over and over again. The new items are fun to use and the game makes great use of the DS mic. The train bits are still annoying but not bad enough to taint my impression of the game (like the boat bits in PH). The soundtrack is awesome. And its still got that Zelda thing where solving the simplest of puzzles can make you feel like Einstein. In short its the best Zelda game I have played since Minnish cap. Aftrunner
Wow the ice temple is f**king amazing. Wait till you guys get to the bells puzzle, its probably the cleverest one I have seen in a Zelda game so far. As are some of the other puzzles in the Ice temple. Really fantastic stuff. And the boss is bastard hard as well. The difficulty curve is most definitely up a couple of notches from PH (TBH PH was way to easy as it was). Where did you get the game from ? and PH was not that easy. To me at least.
Aftrunner
Well if you found PH tough then this one is gonna be an uphill task. Its not as hard as Link to the past or Ocarina but its still tougher than most Zelda games. BTW there is a good chance I might end up with 2 copies of this game. So one of them will be coming up on TP.

Aftrunner
Haha. Well its still up in the winds. I got someone in the US to get 2 copies for me from Amazon. Payment made and all that. Second copy was for a friend who backed out after I made payment. Now another guy I know is supposed to make a trip to the US in Dec last week and he can grab both the copies and bring them back. But if he cancels that trip both the copies are down the toilet. So if things pan out will let you know.
