Bought it just for the heck of it... :D Was thinking of using my PS3 bluetooth headset for my mobile and a proper comfortable headphones for PS3 online games... The official PS3 bluetooth, although really good, can be a pain during long gaming sessions... :D

I bought it from this guy, hope he's reliable... http://cgi.ebay.in/USB-2-0-to-Mic-Speaker-...:1|293:1|294:25

Yeah , Do that. I am talking about the Mic options when you click the little Speaker symbol on the bottom right corner of the screen.

EDIT: Got a new one , Works perfectly with both my Laptop and PS3. Thanks for the help, Harshail .

Hi guys any one who is interested in getting a USB head set.. I reccomend 100 %.. since they work great and u dont have to go thru the hassle of charging.. also the quality is better than a BT headset since its wired..

NOw I will tell you a way to have a wired head set for real cheap.. since normal usb headsets cost around 1000 - 1500 bucks which is quite expensive..

1. All you need is a normal headset with mike which you can use for ur computer (something im sure most of you already have) which has the two plugs.. one for the audio and one for the mike.

2. you will need a usb aud/mike adaptor which u can get from any shop for around 250 - 300 bucks.. the pic is below..

so all u need to do is connect ur normal head set on one side and the usb side into ur ps3. and Tadaa! you have a cheap solution.. which works beautifuly.. this is what I use..

3. if you are sitting a little distance away from ur ps3 just buy a usb extention cable (pic below) that cost like rs 30 and ur all set..

Oh and btw THERE IS NO NEED TO INSTALL ANY SORT OF DRIVERS WHATSOSEVER.. This works as soon as you connect it.. Any one trying to sell you drivers for the adaptor is talking out of his a*s..

Just want to clear up one last doubt.. Some people are not sure whether you hear other players thru the head set or through the TVs speakers when it comes to using this setup.. Rest easy people. Voice output is thru the earphones.. It works just like it should

Hope ive helped.

Bumping this thread for the good of mankind..

bro i would like to make an addition here..

How to use both game sounds and voice chat through this usb adapter setup

1.Connect ur mic portion of ur headset to the usb adapter and thus to PS3.

2.Connect ur headphones portion of ur headset to ur headphones jack either on ur TV or monitor or amp or whatever

3.Go to audio device settings

4.Set input device as USB headset

5.Set output device as default

6.U r good to go. U will hear game sounds and voice chat through ur headphones and u can communicate through ur mic  (Already tested! OK!)

wait.. so the headphone portion of the headset has to be connected to the TV ?!?! like in one of those red, white, yellow holes ??

which one of them to be precise ??

I tried using the convertor but seeing as the convertor has 2 holes i stuffed both the headset and mic wires in them. The result was that i did not get any sound in my ears but apparanatly others were able to hear me at their end.

HALP :help:

nemo bro check pm.. i will copy paste that here as it will benefit other ppl too:

the headset needs to be connected to some audio source directly from the PS3 not via adapter.. it can be audio jack on ur TV?? or if ur TV doesnt have one, then buy a converter to convert PS3 red and white leads to a headphone 3.5mm jack. sth like this:

http://cgi.ebay.in/3-5mm-Stereo-Female-to-...4#ht_1572wt_939

however here the problem will be that u need to have volume control in ur headset as PS3 will output at maximum volume. i m sure ur pc headset must be having it..

cheers bro and enjoy

^ i went to accessory settings and from there to "audio device setting" . der as "input" i selected USB audio. den suddenly a sound like machine gun firing came thru the headfone. n wen i go back it stops

well with the USb converter u can only hear chat voices and they can hear u thats it there will be no ps3 music or the game music will be coming from it.

the thing happend with u is fine now try it with a mp game and start saying "FK off" and all on the mic if the replies comes like "u piece of sh*t" or something that means the converter works :chucks:
