Bulovski
Thief 2 levels were HUGE and although I hated the new enemies they were at least better than zombies . Thief 1 obviously knocked me off because it was completely different from the usual doom / quake / unreal games. And to top it off both had great stories and scripting. I mean this is a game where having your sword out makes you more visible because it's shiny Anyways, Thief 3 was a disappointment compared to the first two. The levels were incredibly small, the movement choppy, the climbing gloves super retarded, the loot system stupid, and they messed up the rendering trying to do dynamic shadows on the old Xbox and destroyed the PC version as well. But its still better than other stealth games - that's how good the series is.
Tyler
I personally loved all the Thief games but the first one will always have a special place. Like gramps pointed out, it was such a refreshing change from the usual first person games at that time. And the atmosphere was simply incredible. It felt strangely comforting and disturbing at the same time. Besides no enemy taunt can top "Come out here you taffer!"
