Chaztin
I am using 64 kbps unlimited connection from you telecom... previously i was connecting it through ip address so had no problem in connecting it to XBL... but now they have some changes. They have provided me with username and password... I think now the ip is dynamic... Now when i connect to XBL using PPPoE connection, no matter i enter IP adress or not, I am unable to connect, Xbl shows problem while testing connection with the IP adress only! is there any way i can rectify this prolem ? I have tried using username and password with ip address and even making it Automatic!
MightySkate
hey Chaz, Have you tried changing the settings on your 360? Because, if previously you were using a static IP address and you think they've made it dynamic now then you should set your 360 to DHCP.

MightySkate
don't worry dude, dhcp is like an automatic ip allocation. anyways, how are you sharing your internet connection? is it through a router? Because i'm using Sify here, and with the password and username i wasn't able to connect directly to my ps3. The only choice i had was to connect my internet on my pc, login into sify and then through a wireless router i was able to connect my ps3 to the net. MightySkate
The username and password seem to be getting in the way. Your setup looks fine tho. At this point i would suggest you call your ISP and ask them if you can still use the previous plan, otherwise check with them your exact ip address. lastAvenger
dude can u seriously play on 64kbps line ? I have a 300kbps line and i am worried that i might not be able to sustain Xbox Live. Anyways i used to use airtel connection directly before i had a wireless router. I just used to enter my given username/pass in PPoE settings and ip was set to automatic because the dhcp server of the isp would be assigning me the ip address as its dynamic and not static. Used work fine totally. If it still doesnt work, ask them when the upgrades will get over ? If problem persists, change your isp

indyaan
hmm why dont u setup PPPOE on the modem itself and let the machines connect to it directly? but this will make your net connected always.. but yea u can do it.. this is what I have done on my airtel modem (Beetel) at home and TATA's modem (Beetel i think) at my office..
