Panthelon
IMO, this will not work well, especially for games, coz no data is ever stored locally but it is on a cloud platform. This means; no internet, no games. Also, this creates other problems such as 1. Lost save data. 2. Playing online would be a pain as, theoretically, you would need at least 5 mbps connection only for OnLive and you'll need some more free bandwidth for online play. 3. How would games downloaded through clients such as Steam work?

Bulovski
the biggest drawback is the constant requirement of internet connectivity to play single player games. I don't want to be online while I play my RPGs or if my bandwidth is hogged by vpn. while this will work extremely well in US / Taiwan / Japan or any place where high speed internet is affordable I cannot say the same about other places. however, if it does work well in those countries these guys will make money. the big investment is the server - the server will need to be placed close to the player. so India can say bye bye to getting onlive for the next few years. on the plus side there's no reason to think this will not work if net connection is good. there are real time financial information systems which use Citrix to run remotely for a large number of users and they get real time data - and these systems are bandwidth hogs of the highest order. Bulovski
one more - the premise is good, but before their time me thinks. anyone remember Iridium?

Try playing a 720p video without it buffering even once on 512 kbps. The figures that you're quoting are in a controlled environment, the same won't be the case in real time. john117
@OP: ever heard of a thing called input lag .. current gen lcds input lag = ~10ms +lag from onlive (~50ms to infiinty ,depending on your distance from server ) .. + lag from your game's server .. now go figure how you wanna play.. please use that stuff between your ears before going bonkers over every news .. Doobz
and am sure it'll be a super hit....in US And i should care because ?? Basically what we are all trying to tell you is , How something like this will affect us , Indians. We dont really care about the US as we are not sure if we will ever take up residence there. We only care about how it will work , here , in India where power cuts and down times are a weekly nuisance
