Battlefield: Bad Company

Just 70 MB or so, and its much better than Gold Rush. You also get 4 extra maps with the download.

I still can't figure out what gold rush is about. I played just one game before putting it back on the shelf. Conquest was what hooked me.

+1 , 4-5 maps into it, am still to figure out the objective of gold rush

I had the exact same experience, except that I stopped after one gold rush map. You should really try Conquest then.

What's so complicated about Gold Rush?

Enemy base has a couple of Gold crates. Destroy them and enemy spawns at base further away from the original. Again, the new base will have a couple of gold crates. Go and destroy them until you have destroyed all.

Objective is to destroy all the gold crates to win the round. Enemy objective is to kill and deplete your number. If you keep getting killed without getting any gold crates, then your run out of respawns and loose the game.

Conquest? Its team deathmatch with capture the flag. Five flags on the map and your teams' 'health' depends on your kills as wells as flag defends and captures.

@Cody: I have no idea. It just doesn't feel right. Maybe the fact that Domination is the only mode I ever play in CoD4 has something to do with it.

I like capturing flags :\

[FREE DLC] New Maps Available For Conquest Mode

Maps:

- Acta Non Verba

- Crossing OVer

- Ghost Town

- Par for the Course

Tweaks:

· Increased Ticket count for all Conquest maps to make for longer rounds

· Find custom match on Conquest was fixed

· Knife melee no longer instantly kills friendly’s and will take two swipes

· Bullets and knives now go through undergrowth and trees leafs

· Shotgun damage in distance reduced, but is still just as powerful in closer range

· Savior Trophy requirements tweaked, awarded when you kill an enemy that attack a teammate and damaged them by 20% or more

· Drawing weapon time after sprinting is reduced to SP times to improve pace of action

· AA guns have less deviation and more damage to improve balance vs Gunships

Helicopters

-Lowered hand weapons damage against Gunships, but .50 Cal weapons on Vehicles retain their damage against the Gunships.

-Increased missile speeds for the pilot

-Gunner MG’s time to overheat increased with splash damage reduced

-Gunships wont explode when touching one trees and now have a damage multiplier based on the speed of the Gunship. This means if you are flying very slow you can knock over trees and take Zero damage, but if you're at top speed 4-5 trees will destroy your Gunship.

Started this game's SP campaign two days ago.

It is surprisingly fun. The graphics are pretty good and the destructible environment never gets old. The banter between your squadmates is great. The writing is witty and the voice acting is spot on in most cases. The gunplay is a little "off" and the enemy AI is sh*t, but the large environments, varied terrain and once again the destructible environments provide boatloads of options in terms of tackling a given situation and approaches you can take.

I also went online for a bout of MP and it seems to have stood up quite well. There were plenty of full games on Xbox Live and the action was always fast and tense. I remember being disappointed with the MP when the game was released, but it appears that DICE and EA have sorted out some of the balancing issues and made it more fun now, even for those of us on high latency connections. The shot detection algorithm is a lot like Killzone 2, so you will find plenty of cases of two people killing each other simultaneously.

All in all, its a better game today than at launch.

Do try the DLC-added Conquest mode. It's the best fun I've had playing any MP game - after CoD4.

And not even CoD4 can beat tanks, APCs and helis rushing from either end of the map to capture control points.

this game is plain awesome ness the interaction between hoggard and sweetwater is the most fun part :surprise:

and the dialogue is plain awesomeness like hoggard says "we need some thing like TRUckaaasorusrex, that will be awesome" and he also says "i smelll GoldDDDdddd"

now i played the demo of BFBC2 now comparing the two some tweeks r there but visually there arent much of a change that may be because of the fact that we r playing now the demo not the full game but still i see very less change in both of the games

The graphics was very grainy in BC1. But yeah it was an awesome game.

So I started playing this game once again in Hard and I noticed that A.I. is as dumb as a fkin doorknob, especially friendly AI that doesn't do jack. Whaddup with that? Also I thought I'd get both normal and hard achievements by choosing hard but it turns out I have to play the game separately in normal. Who the fk does that?

f**k off murali
