'Woman cop pulled my hair, slammed me into wall': Again and again,

the 19-year-old dialled the number of the Delhi police women's unit. There was no response. Then she tweeted: "'terrified please help'.Shambhavi Saxena was terrified. Earlier in the afternoon, a policewoman had apparently dragged the student of English honours by her hair into Parliament Street police station.

Her crime? According to the police, she was part of a group of 20 people, mostly school students, who were inciting crowds at Jantar Mantar and were marching towards Parliament Street where prohibitory orders were in force.

Very well.

WTF is this. Using batons against women.

I am not giving clean chits to government or anyone, but one has to have a holistic approach rather than bending facts to suit each others subconcious political affiliations. It was clear from the third day iotself that this has all taken a political colour.

What I am more concerned is how can the governemtn who is an elected body of 1.2 billion people, bend over its back over ridiculous demands made by generally hypocrite and selfish youths of this country, who have made it a fashion to march with candles in their hands at every given opportunity, but when asked to really put in some work for the betterment of this counry and abdicate their pleasures for the well being of others, are the first to turn and say 'WHY ME".

Why are the democratic procedures of this country being constantly sidetrackd by the ruling government at the whims of a few media houses !!!

I really think you are totally oblivious to the fact, that we are a barely 2 trillion economy having to accomodate for 1.3 Billion people, and you actually have no idea what are the resources that go into a single government employee, no wonder these jobs don't get filled, and those that do are filled by bribing assholes, from these same very masses that go into the night with candles in their hands, and the first thing that they do after landing a government job is pulling of string to get posting near and around their homes. BUNCH OF BLOODY HYPOCRITES !!!!

I am not saying that protests should not happen, but before pointing fingers at others the youth of today has to look at what he is doing for the country, rather than asking what the country is doing for him !!!!

I am not against meaningful protests, having atleast a vision if not anything else, but the way the Delhities, Politicians like Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dixit, Ruling governemtn, and especially the "un-biased" Media of this country are subverting the whole democratic setup of this country, they will take the whole country towards Anarchy for their own selfish motives, just like it happened with Hitler and Germany, and these very oh so intellectuals would be the first to book their tickets out of here, and the rest of India will have to pay the price of their arrogance and stupidity !!!

Just like it happened with Constable Tomar death, what did these people loose in all this, that family lost a father, and now the whole media just washed their hands off like nothing happened !!! so called patriot of India Arvind Kejriwal who promised to do or die, is busy defending the accussed, and LOMBDI's like Swaraj and Dixit are nowhere to be seen. The media is busy trying to show that he actually died a normal death so that noone points fingers at them !!!

This is just an example of who actually pays the price !!!!!

And that is why I call such individuals ..... For me those uncontrollable Hippies, the coward scheming politicians like Kejriwal, Dixit and Swaraj, and the Bas***D Media Houses are the one's responsible for the death of that constable !!!!

Bunch of Selfish Hippie retards !!!

@saint.

I dont know what biz police had in stopping the protesters. Here or other day at Ramleela.

What if they had reached prez house, is prez of this republic is so busy that he cant spare 10 mins with the people he heads.

Or is it that he is afraid that the hundreds of people in his security are incapable of protecting him.

Or is it that govt doesnt want people to get mobilized?

It must be #1, aint it?

With all due respect Bro ....

10 people cannot take the responsibility of talking for 1.3 Billion people, the same happened when Arvind Kejriwal and his goons were given undue weightage where they should not have been, it was the same kind of gesture you are requesting here, and everyone knows how they used the same gesture as a launching pad for their own political motives !!!!

They became the self proclaimed, self elected civil society members.

When in power one has to tread very carefully, talking with a particular group of protestors is not a precedent that can be laid out under any circumstances, it gives them undue un earned weightage that is like handing the ignition of a nuclear bomb in the hands of a child.

Those who understand politics, know how the constituion and the democracy of this country was saved during that anti corruption movement, pranab had to literally beg BJP leaders to take back their support from the movement, after which the whole situation was diffused, and Kejriwal turned on BJP since they withdrew their support at the most critical point, and decided to launch his own party, whereas Pro BJP members like Kiran Bedi and other were stranded in the middle.

The government had to literally rub it's nose on the floor and plead like slaves at the feet of BJP-RSS combine to save the democracy of this country, and this exactly is the point what irks me the most. All this happened due to those stupid decisions made by the ruling government of engaging with those stupid turds and the subsequrnt gathering of DUMB people at Ramlila maidan without understanding the political undercurrents of the whole movement.

For the congress being a political party it was their duty to understand the political implications of enagaging with self proclaimed representatives, because that turns everything into a catch 22 situaution, and they failed for which the whole country would have paid the price.

These people should in no case be given undue, unearned weightage over the mandate of 1.2 billion people, no matter what anyone says. The world paid the price when germany's leadership did the same thing back in 1941, and with the volatile position that India is situated in, this could have led to far more disastorous results !!

My simple point is, that undue weightage should not be given to anyone, including protestors as well as Media houses, need of the hour is to regulate media by an individual body, this is a must to curb the mess electronic media is causing, if this is what the media is capable of doing when they have viewership among 4% of Indian population, just think of the havoc it can play if they continue unabated and reach even 10% of India's population.

Media is potraying itself as the sole sensible voice of democracy, and undermining all politicians, bureaucrats, Judiciary on the whole, and this is not good for any democracy, because it hits at the very basic building block of Democratic governments, that is distribution of power.

Media is pushing India towards a state of anarchy, and politicians are lending a helping hand towards it including leaders from all parties, be it ruling or opposition.

Protests cannot be excuses for sidetracking democratic procedures NO MATTER WHAT, This country has to be ruled by Set law and procedures.

There is no stopping people to demand changing of laws, but when you do such things with anger as the basic instinct, and are demanding things without any understanding of the same, these people are no less than terrorists, because they being just a group of a few thousands are holding the mandate of 1.3 Billion people at gun point and pushing for illegitimate demands without an iota of knowledge of the practicality of the whole situation, and what is feasible and what is not.

With 10,000 cases for 1 judge, and with judges working for over 14 hours on an average, you tell me, is it a legitimate demand to fast track every case in this country !!!!

Have you any idea how many policemen committed sucicide this year alone ? such is the stress these policemen are facing in day to day life, not everyone is a bribe taker, there are some really good policemen out thee as well, but the media is potraying everyone with the same brush, and the saddest part is the public is gobbling up all this like sweet candy !!!

The president is occupying that position for a reason. HE IS NOT A NORMAL INDIAN, but the FIRST INDIAN, and he has to be given the respect that he deserves no matter what. He is obliged to work with a political sense, and not with that of a common human being, as was and is expected of him from those protesting like maniacs. I am glad he didn't entertain these B@st@rds and acted strongly and with utmost political intelligence !!!

If you are asking the president to speak with a speaker in his hand addressing the whole crowd, are you even aware what kind of a wrong message that would have sent out to the whole political class, as well as the police present there. It would have created havoc, then there is no knowing where this country would have gone, there is a chain of command that has to be followed, if he had done this the chain of command would have been broken, and the police present there would have been left paralysed not to know whom to listen.

Not to mention a precedent would have been set, that any group of people with whatever demands can get together and move towards president house and he would have to oblige everytime, if he does not then he is biased , and the whole prestige president's seat occupies would lie in ruin.

No one can be allowed to run through the chain of command that exists, if you have problem and want to highlight it, a citizens first priority is to meet their elected area representatives, not move like headless chickens towards Rashtrapati Bhawan. Media and especailly BJP owned channels like AjjTak, Times Now, Headlines today were continuouslly endorsing these things, and flashing messages of Sushma Swaraj igniting every BJP protestor to push on forward, ABVP and BSKS, RSS were already in the fray as it is. Anyone endorsing such a move is anti-National as well as Anti-Social !!!

If this continues this country is going to follow in the footsteps of countriues like Syria and Egypt. A full blown civil war was knocking at the doorsteps of this country during that Anna Hazaare movement, and those responsible for pushing this were being given titles of 2nd Gandhian in full puclic view, where was this Anna hazaare few years back, not even people of Maharashtra knew who he was, and sudenly people were switching off lights of their houses and taking out candle marches without weighing out the pros and cons of what was happeneing.

The youth of this country although the most literate, is the most politically illiterate lot that has ever been born in this country, NO THANKS to Media, and things like Facebook etc, which have blurred the line betwen reality and virtual, and what is practical and what is impractical.

This is exactly my point, the youth of this country must think 1000000 times before doing anything, including joining in these kind of protests, because you are not only causing a law and order problem, but you are also playing an indirect major role in derailing the democracy of this country and push this country into an anarchist state.

Political education as well understanding political imnplications of one's action is a must for today's youth, and theSOLE reason i am posting in so much detail over here, because I know many of delhities throng this forum, and I sincerely hope, would think twice if not 1000000 times before joining such protests in the future !!!

These are not healthy signs of democracy but rather warning signs, that politically the youth is becoming illiterate and will take this country down with them !!!

Since you are going on a very different tangent let me break it down for ya.

Isn't that government's job to monitor TV programming?

FYI, there is a broadcast monitoring department which keeps an eye on all TV programming, if there is anything provocative, government can block that channel, seize their assets etc. I agree that media try to sensationalize even small issues, but regulation's completely govt's responsibility.

Media is potraying itself as the sole sensible voice of democracy, and undermining all politicians, bureaucrats, Judiciary on the whole, and this is not good for any democracy, because it hits at the very basic building block of Democratic governments, that is distribution of power.

No one is worshiping media.

They have vested interests. Its been proven many times, amar singh tapes and recently the Jindal extortion.

We are beyond that point and what it really has to do with protests?

Media is pushing India towards a state of anarchy, and politicians are lending a helping hand towards it including leaders from all parties, be it ruling or opposition.

Again what this has to do with protests?

Protests cannot be excuses for sidetracking democratic procedures NO MATTER WHAT, This country has to be ruled by Set law and procedures.

So set the laws and enforce them. The lawlessness has led to the problem, isn't it?

these people are no less than terrorists, because they being just a group of a few thousands are holding the mandate of 1.3 Billion people at gun point and pushing for illegitimate demands without an iota of knowledge of the practicality of the whole situation, and what is feasible and what is not.

How do you know what if feasible and what is not? And did you even consider the possibility that they can be right too?

With 10,000 cases for 1 judge, and with judges working for over 14 hours on an average, you tell me, is it a legitimate demand to fast track every case in this country !!!!

Is it people's problem or govt? if you don't have enough judiciary, hire more.

But top of everything, set a timeline for everything, investigation, interrogation, conviction, trial and judgement.

And make sure that people don't jump these timelines so bad that justice has no meaning at all.

Have you any idea how many policemen committed sucicide this year alone ?

Sorry, I don't have that statistics.

This is exactly my point, the youth of this country must think 1000000 times before doing anything, including joining in these kind of protests, because you are not only causing a law and order problem, but you are also playing an indirect major role in derailing the democracy of this country and push this country into an anarchist state.

100000, thats just too many times. How many times YOU thought that its not a good idea to protest? And how do you know you are right?

These are not healthy signs of democracy but rather warning signs, that politically the youth is becoming illiterate and will take this country down with them !!!

20 yrs back, students came on streets opposing Mandal commission, not a single political party helped their cause, and they failed

That thing changed the fabric of this nation and screwed the entire entire system forever.

Protests are absolutely healthy thing for nation. Opponent parties don't have balls to go against retarded schemes like direct-cash-transfer or promotions for scheduled casts. If parties oppose them, they will be losing lot of the votes. For such thing, only the civic society and public can raise voices, as Kejriwal's party already did.

Who the f**k these mofos think they are? Running retarded social schemes, burning the taxpayers money like they have inherited from their forefathers.

These protests gotta lead to something, or else this nation is screwed.

---- Nope government cannot regulate the media, it would lead to politicisation and completely ruining the authenticity of news, this has to be done in some other way, but public has to be politically educated as well, and only then will the media stop acting like lunatics. Once again a reason for me posting in so much detail.

No one is worshiping media.

They have vested interests. Its been proven many times, amar singh tapes and recently the Jindal extortion.

We are beyond that point and what it really has to do with protests?

---- They were the one's putting oil in the fire and literally crippling the police machinery with constant BS updates and breaking news !!!!

Media is pushing India towards a state of anarchy, and politicians are lending a helping hand towards it including leaders from all parties, be it ruling or opposition.

Again what this has to do with protests?

------ Answered above

So set the laws and enforce them. The lawlessness has led to the problem, isn't it?

-------With national average of 1 policemen for every 1000 people, and even worse ratios in states like chattisgarh, where the ratio is even worse with 1 policemen for 5,000 people, how in the hell can anyone expect police to do a 24X7 job, citizens also have to use their due diligence, it cannot be one-sided

How do you know what if feasible and what is not? And did you even consider the possibility that they can be right too?

----- By educating oneself, with national realities, studying facts and figures, and striving to work for the country, instead of wasting 10 hours on Facebook chatting like DumbTards !!

Is it people's problem or govt? if you don't have enough judiciary, hire more.

But top of everything, set a timeline for everything, investigation, interrogation, conviction, trial and judgement.

And make sure that people don't jump these timelines so bad that justice has no meaning at all.

------ the resources are not there, we are just a 2 trillion economy with 1.3 Billion people to feed, go figure, even US with 14 Trillion economy and 33 crore people has failed to provide a perfect ratio, although they are ages ahead of us. This is the reason why growth on the whole has been at forefront for the last 10 years, without growth nothing of the above can happen, ' Jitni Chaadar hoti hai, utneh hi pair failaane chahiye'

Sorry, I don't have that statistics.

----This is the problem, no one wants to go deeper into the problem, they just want Jugaadu Fixes !!!!

100000, thats just too many times. How many times YOU thought that its not a good idea to protest? And how do you know you are right?

---- Figure of speech, and there is no telling what is right or wrong in the heat of the moment, but simple common sense should tell one to not take law into their own hands under any circumstances, and if someone is taking or even talking about taking it in their hands, GET THE HELL OUT of such protests!!! because that makes you a criminal as well, no matter what your compulsions are. protests have to be peaceful under all circumstances.

20 yrs back, students came on streets opposing Mandal commission, not a single political party helped their cause, and they failed

That thing changed the fabric of this nation and screwed the entire entire system forever.

These protests gotta lead to something, or else this nation is screwed.

------SECCC will bring out the true picture, around 20 -25 years from now, those who are parents of todays children were the one's involved in those protests as well, and even then they did not thought out things in a positive way !!!!

Not healthy and only leading to Anarchy !!!! Anyways, I won't be able to further proceed with this debate, it's taking up too much of a time, and only making me one fo the hippies. Got to get back to my real life instead of wasting time and energy here.

Apologies if I upset anyone with my comments, but the BS that was happneing for the whole week, and having witnessed the protests in person, i felt to share my views on this forum, as this is probably the only one I visit nowadays !!

I hope that policeman gets justice, I really feel sorry for the person, as he died and everybody just abandoned him like his life has no meaning, a person dying in the line of duty has no meaning, and still the media trying to glorify the protests, is slap on the face of country know to have Gandhi as it's Father !!! REALLY SAD !!!

Peace !!!

I am not.

Drop everything and answer this and only this. No running in circles, no media/police and protests.

A girl has been brutally raped.

The current law doesn't mete out capital punishment to convicted rapists. Going by trend, convictions in court takes 5+ yrs and only 15% are convicted, new case keep popping up every 40 mins.

She and her family want justice, what do you propose we should do?

3 year old girl raped, condition serious

The whole nation is on the row against the Delhi gang-rape but it seems this is not affecting the cruel people from assaulting girls sexually. The brutal case is from Katwa in Bardhaman in Kolkalta, where a three year old girl was raped and left stranded in shrubs to die.

man I'm just speechless, it just goes showing us that sexual harassment has no bounds,

this protest of our's is atleast a decade late, where was everybody when news came out about 2-3 girls in the age bracket of merely (8-10) I guess, were molested by their van driver continuous for 1-2 months. Other case also where a 9 year-old girl was molested and an 11 year-old boy was sodomized.

serious where was the youth, why nobody protested? & why now?

btw,

Candle March in Dwarka

this was quite a peaceful protest, I also took part in the protest that night & while we were moving along the roadside, the traffic wasn't much but the people in the car were like totally remorseless or what but non of em! gave a damn about the protest, on the other hand the cops standing alongside the police barriers were telling those relentless ppl blowing their car horn that "Yeh Aap Sab Ke Acche Ke Liye Toh Kar Rahe Hai!"

the cops were quite supportive and were asking those ppl to calm down and wait for us protesters to move first,

it felt good for the first time yelling for a good cause

My fellow IVGians, I do not ask u guys to join any protest or something, but whatever u guys do........do it peacefully, remember we are not hooligans...........we're just the good citizens contributing to a right cause.

Well said Saint. Completely agree. Most people that are going for these candle march and stuff are just dumb crowds wanting to maybe go there, take some pictures and upload it on Facebook to show how "aware" they are about social issues. I have Indians here in the UK saying how f**ked up the Government is and stuff. The funny thing is they are here far away from India giving their judgements without knowing much about the country. Atleast I admit that while I really feel sad about what's happening, I don't make any effort to make a difference. I just don't have the will to take time out to help social causes in India. However, the truth is people are spoon-fed by the media and think whatever the media says is the absolute truth. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I have heard debates in Russia Today and other shows where the anchors refrain from giving their own viewpoints as much as possible. However, Arnab Goswami is just one of the most biased debate host I have come across. It really amazes me to see how many people like that guy. From the very get-go he takes a stand in the debate and supports its claims and the contestants who take the same stand as him. News channels like Aaj Tak, India TV are much worse. I have been seeing a few clips from news channels in India from time to time and I must say they really misguide their public.

As for the Manmohan Singh's "theek hai" comment, I mean I was amazed to see people making a big deal out of it. It just shows their lack of understanding. That word has various meanings and you don't need to be a genious to realise that he didn't say "theek hai" to the rapes. He was simply asking if the interview is done or not.

Try to improve yourself and please respect others. These pseudo-intelligent Indian people make comments like... "India needs to improve. Its these North Indians that are coming to Delhi and causing rapes. We should kick them out." I mean seriously, I don't understand how can people even think of improving the country with comments like these from well the "educated" people of the nation.

^ Thanks Avi for trying to see everything from a neutral POV, I find some solace having seen your comments over the year on these forums, I find it nice to know that there are people out there who like to take a holistic view of the whole thing and not just restrict themselves to mumbo jumbo that is being fed out there, for me actually it's just the effort to do the same that really matters, but I find the current generation, including me at times just want shortcuts in everything !!!

@ Udham,

Bro I am all up for giving due justice to that girl, but nothing can be done as a knee jerk reaction, the law needs to change, but at the same time, all provisions have to thought out objectively and with a level head, laws cannot be made on streets, only parliament can make the law, and if one wants to subvert the whole process, and make laws on media channels, as is being done for the past 1 year, where the parliament is not being let to run by opposittion, and as soon as the parliament day is over, eveybody is rushing to various business houses, discussing various laws and how they should be structured.

These are Bad signs for any democracy, and the so called educated public of this country, beacuse endorsing such acts, and continuously subverting the democratic institutions of this country will have far reaching consequences.

How many of those protesting, are ready to dedicate their lives towards the cause of rape, the amount of people ready to actually put in some work for the welfare of rape victims is next to none, the notion and the thought process that lighting candles abdicates oneself of their responsibility is a dangerous one !!!! The initiative has to go beyond just lighting candles and shouting slogans, it has to be done as real practical ground work.

I am from Chandigarh, I am a Scale 1 officer in SBI, and I was in Delhi to take a 1 week class, that I offer as a service every 6 months, to reach out to the underpriviliged and teach in such schools, I am not proud of what I do, cause I feel that it's too little, even if this was my fulltime job I would still find it less adequate. While I was in college, there was a village in my neighbourhood, and instead of taking part in meaningless college fests, I got in touch with a Bhangra Ustaad there, formed a team, got the team registered under NZCC, and now they are a well accomplished bhangra group performing at marriages, and cultural functions, and a few of them have still stuck together and introduced many others. many of the people I got together were people like Lally - an 8th grade dropout, working as a hair cutter in his brother's shop, Binda - an electrician who had lost his mother and father was a drug addict, Happy - a person who used to deliver milk to people's households. Most of these were school dropouts, and apart from what they are doing nowadays, atleast this channeled their s well as my energy towards something meaningful and productive for those people's lives, otherwise who knows this energy could have been channeled into something heinous as to what has happened in Delhi with that girl.

As far as the menace of honour killings go, I have also been working in close proximity to IKWRO, a Uk based Iranian Kurdish Women organisation against Honour killing's, I am also an active member of Love Commandoes, who are an Indian based organisation against Honour killings

These rapists are not coming from mars, they are in and around you, and just killing everyone is not the solution. This point has to be understood, one has to strive to change the lives of people, not just offer candle marches and lip service. Changing lives instead of taking Lives should be the motto.

The change has to start from your ownself, and this has totally been lost in the current generation. I am roughly 27 years old, so i am not very old either. I also like playing video games, and the reason why i am here. Hell, I have even played for 14 hours at a stretch, hell, if you ask some people who have played alongside me, would swear on their lives, as to what a crap mouth I am, when on miic, but I never translated all that I say to my real life, i was lucky enough to know in my gut what is practical and what is impractical, what is real and what is virtual. ButI find today, especially for the past 2 years or so, people read something on Facebook, or any other site for that matter and blindly start following them. and the sorry thing is, they think of themselves as saviours of Indian democracy, and the sole baton holders, while in reality they are heading the whole democratic process towards disaster.

What anger should have been channeled by individuals like yourself, into doing something for the country, is being spilled on the roads of New Delhi, and the end victim of all this, is the Constable who was just performing his duty. Having ruined a family, those who are the real murderers, are sitting back in their warm quilts, with their families watching TV, chatting up on facebook like nothing happened, whistelling at the same songs that depict girls as commodities. Media is busy trying to wash it's hands off the whole thing, as if they had nothing to do with it, and politicians are back to their normal BS !!!

All of the above does not necessarliy make me an enlightened citizen of the country, nor does it mean to showcase how I am different than others, nor was it ever aimed by me in this direction. I have tried to do whatever little i could in my life, but I for one never joined in such kind of a violent, hollow, directionless protest, let alone endorse such things in any way or shape possible, all this protest has led to is ruining of a family. By god's grace, I knew where to draw the line, but I find it really terrifying, how the college going youth of today, or the young generation in general have completely forgotten where to draw the line. i have had the privilige of living a good life like all others that come here, but the kind of endorsment that is being given to such acts, even by educated and eminent people of this country is just shameful.

I am not here to list what I have done throughout my life, but since it has come to this point, this is exactly why all this irks me so much, and how self centered and hollow i find all these upsurges. All these are tell tale signs of a worsening democracy, and these media houses are glorifying such things without an iota of responsibility.

The attitude that, everything is government's responsibility and the citizens have no responsibility at all, is the one I find most unfortunate and disgusting. How many of those protesting are ready to visit such victims in their locality, forget about the whole nation or even city, and form a task force asking for filing a joint petition in every possible place including Rashtrapati Bhawan. Forget anyone else, are you ready to do the same ? Heck, forget about Dedicating your life, are you ready to just get a hold of those victims located in your locality, in your sector and give them a helping hand ?

I asked a bunch of these young students, sitting at India Gate to come together and do this, starting from their locality only, and only visiting the NGO's of the area, and the first thing that came out of their mouths was. WHAT, NOW? so much for Hypocricy.

Even the NCW only offers lip service in most such cases, I find it hard, disbelieving and disheartening, how the chairman of NCW has time day in and day out to sit in front of media channels but does not have the time, to follow up on the cases that are there with them. there delivery ratio is one of the worst among all commission's

The point is, if you want society to change, that change has to start from your own self first, your own home, your own locality first. If not, then it's just hypocricy at its level best !!!

Sorry, if all the above sounded arrogant or self glorifying, but that was not what my intentions were behind posting all this. The point i was trying to make was not being taken in the sense i wanted it to be taken, and hence i listed all that stuff as kind of a last resort. I apologise in advance !!

I'm online on my computer after a bit so I may be replying to you late but I felt I needed to bring something to this topic so here goes.

So the Constabele succumbs to his injuries, who will be held responsible for this death. The youth of this country are out of control. they have no ethics left, all of them are selfish, leaders like Sushma Swaraj and BJP sponsored television channels like Ajj Tak, Times Now, Headlines Today should be held accountable for this killing, they were constantly flashing messages and covering footages, inciting the mob to create a law and order situation in Delhi, constantly inciting the mob, RSS also puched in it's A and B plan aka Baba Ramdev and AAAP party into the foray to further incite the mob.

Pure BS politics being played out by the BJP as well as congress !!! and as a result you have a family without a father, I hope all you supporting the violence get a taste of what it feels to live their life without a father, and that will teach you what the family is going through right now.

The youth of this country, especially the elites, have no Moral ethics left, and are taking the whole country down with them.

How in the hell can 15 to 20,000 people on roads represent a country of 1.2 billion people. Most of those on roads protesting like maniacs, demanding taliban style dictats, are the most uncivilised group of people, but yet they think they are the civilised ones, and politicians and Television channels who instead playing a positive role, played a negative role and incited the mobs, including Sushma Swaraj and media channels like Times Now, Headlines Today and Ajj Tak, which are clearly BJP owned channels, should be held accountable for the murder of this contable and brought to book !!!

The constable died doing his job. Was it right or okay? Maybe not. But nobody planned to 'kill' him.

15 or 20,000 people can't represent the country. But they can represent themselves. And they did. They let the government know what they felt, and they did so in a peaceful manner. Very, truly democratic and noble.

These hypocrites have nothing else to do, but to cause trouble, the f**king news channels are back with their daily does of entertainment, they played such a major role in inciting the mob with 24 x 7 coverage and ridiculous demands of Talibani Diktats being telecasted around the clock, and they are back to their Saas Bahu and Sazzish serials and Cricket entertainment quarter, acting like nothing happened, a family lost their earning hand and these media houses who are the worst hypocrites of them all are washing their hands off like they had nothing to do with it all.

Leaders like Sushma Swaraj, who was constantly eggin on people by making ridiculous comments of not to atack the protestors, and leaders like Shiela dixit trying to wash her hands off, since the Delhi elections are coming next year are the one's responsible for this death. The media is out of control right now, first during the Mumbai attacks, then during the Anna Hazaare movement, and now this. They have constantly failed to act according to any kind of moral ethics.

The girl is still fighting for life, but here is a family who has already lost the earning hand of the family, and what are these hippies goign to do about it !! NOTHING !!! They are again going to go back to their cosy homes and sit in front of Facebook and Video games, until the next big letout to pour out their built up anger. Bloody bunch of pedophiles !!!! :furious:/>

The news channels and media houses are a business. They are not morally responsible information outlets. They 'sell' news for money. Should they be morally responsible and do the 'right' thing? (The right thing btw, can be different for 1.3 billion people, so you figure that one out) Probably. Are they obligated to? No.

the Media houses are back to their regular business, celebrating christmas after ruining a family, I don't know why the hell is the governement responding to these media houses, at best these people only cater to the elites of Indian Society, and at the best are onlycatering to 4% of the population, and that too only those living in Metro cities like Delhi and Mumbai.

Most of these guys protesting on streets belong to rich families, and want to run the Indian government American style.... they are far away from ground realities and problems of the poor. The Indian Government has really failed at protecting the democracy of this country, by giving undue weightage to people who donot deserve it, and just because they have the means to broadcast the whole thing as if it respresents the whole of India, does not mean what they are saying is right.

There should be a sever crackdown on these Media houses, and they should be held accountable alongwith opportunistic leaders like Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dixit for the death of this constable. Even the son of the Constable is holding the crowd responsible for his father's death, and none of these bloody Hippies are coming out to even offer a few words of sympathy towards them.

To hell with leaders like these, and to hell with the so called 'FREE' and 'UNBIASED' Media of this country. I hope you all rot in helll !!!!

Hippies? So if some people who believe in something other than you have the guts to voice it in a way which is not acceptable to you become hippies? You're the one coming off as very narrow minded here.

Did you read that it was a few of these 'hippies' were the ones who spotted that the constable fell down and looked at him? Tried to get the attention of his colleagues to see if he could be helped? You can't really hold any one of those you've outlined for his death. That's like saying the US is responsible for soldiers that died during Kargil coz Pak bought the weapons from them. He died doing his duty. Maybe of natural causes, maybe of injuries, but he was doing his duty.

I am all for better policing, but every sane individual knows that lighting candles in streets and shouting from the top of their voices is not going to anything.

Well then, let the insane voice their opinions. There's nothing illegal or wrong in that. Nor is it illegal to demand what they were demanding. Infact, what they were demanding is a basic right every citizen should enjoy in a democracy. Safety.

One has to change his own self, and live his life according to greater higher ideals, and only then hope for a change in society. Instead of lighting candles in streets like a bunch of retards, they should be lighting these candles in the homes of poor and using their education to make more Indians educated and literate.

You are trying to mix up two very different issues here. Can you not see the change in society around you? 10 years ago no one would have bothered to do these 'retarded' marches (notice how you've used the word hippies, retards and insane to describe people who are simply, peacefully and democratically trying to voice their opinion). It is happening now because people are tired of how things are going. And they do want to bring an even greater change. A change to what they (and many others) think will bring about a better nation.

They want to do it peacefully too. They can't control the hooligans and politicians with power who intend to use this as a stepping stone for their own vested interests.

People marching with candles on streets want a basic right for which they or their parents have paid hard earned money and voted. They are doing their bit by paying taxes. They have a right to demand and they are right in demanding what they are demanding.

What they should or should not do is not a call you can take. You would like them to try and educate the poor? Noble thought. But. They are doing their bit by paying taxes. You know what taxes are for, right? Part of these taxes are collected exactly for the cause you believe in. That's why the government takes a part of my and their hard earned money. To use it to educate the poor. What really happens to that money, all that money, is anyone's guess.

What they did was their right as citizens. Accept that.

I mean who are the rapists, the murderers, are they coming from Mars ???? they are coming from amongst us only, while i was there at INDIA gate on Tuesday day I asked a few of them, will they go and teach poor people's children in small villages and far away places, and all of these candle light holders were quiet. Just hypocrites of the first order.

Please get off this moral high ground. Understand the difference between a citizen's right and duty. The marchers are most probably doing both. But this issue of teaching the poor in villages is not their prerogative. Nor can it be. Nor should it be just because you feel so.

42-year-old woman gang-raped, dumped in Delhi

Even as protests are raging in the capital over the gang-rape of a 23-year-old medical student, another gang-rape comes to light. A 42-year-old woman from Jaipur was gang-raped by three men and dumped in South Delhi on Wednesday night.

Of the three accused, one- Dilip Verma- was arrested in Agra while the police are on the lookout for the other two.

The victim said she had gone to Vrindavan on December 22 and met Verma there. He accompanied her in the car back home. On the way two of his friends joined them. She was then sedated and raped by all three somewhere between Vrindavan and Delhi and then dumped her in Delhi's Kalkaji area.

"She told us that she was gagged, sedated and raped by the trio. They took turns to rape her. A medical examination has confirmed rape," a senior police official said.

A case of gang-rape under section 376(G) has been registered against the trio

The victim is conscious and undergoing treatment at AIMMS.

yup thats the way govt. functions, take ur full leisure time to conduct ur group-therapy sessions to implement new rules while the women of this country get molested each and every day

The same very peaceful people were cilmbing on pillars and throwing off barricades, 79 buses including those owned by state as well as police were damaged in the process. I wonder how that is peaceful at any stretch of imagination.

(The right thing btw, can be different for 1.3 billion people, so you figure that one out) Probably. Are they obligated to? No.

Just like politicians are required to have a higher responsibility, similarly goes for media channels, sprewing out baseless and inflammatory messages like they are churning out candy.

i don't call them hippies because they protested, i call them hypocrites because when it come to pulling in some real work they are the first one's to back off.

yes safety is the duty of the government of the day, but citizen of any country also has to play his due dilligence and moral duty, it cannot be a one-sided affair, especially knwoing the ground realities of the country one lives in.

In the last 10 years, economy doubled in it's size, it took 55 years to reach 1 trillion, and all this high growth, is what is leading to moral degradation, because responsibilities are being lost day by day, whereas means are increasing at a more higher rate.

They want to do it peacefully too. They can't control the hooligans and politicians with power who intend to use this as a stepping stone for their own vested interests.

Nothing wrong with demanding !!!

Yes they are exercising their right, but they are also stepping on the rights of all those who have voted this government in power, 20 - 30,0000 donot and cannot represent a country of 1.3 Billion, and the government as well as opposition is responsible for doing this !!

Errr, right. So 20-30,000 people don't represent the nation but a bunch of 100 politicians do ? A bunch of politicians who have joined politics only for the sake of minting money ? A bunch of politicians who are least bothered about what happens on the roads while they are busy paying a crore for their son's education in US ? A bunch of politicians whose only way to make a point is to shout and throw chairs and mics in the LS and the RS ? A bunch of politicians who are curtail our rights by arresting it's own citizens if something offensive against them is posted on social media sites ?

I would rather stand with those 30k fools (many of whom I agree cannot be farther from the truth) rather than these bunch of "elected" politicians.

what saint has said is partly correct, these rapist......eve-teasers are the very ppl from our society, and not some aliens

what we need is a mental revolution, the problem comes from its very roots..........these ppl, some of them are not given proper education, but sometimes where they are given education, they don't perceive these moral values, its something which lacks in our system.............its the very reason why some of the law or engineering students, really well educated..........at some point they turn out to be rapist or an eve-teaser.

These moral values which makes us a good and complete human being, the knowledge about these things is really deficit in our country. Every individual in the environment is the sum total of the upbringing by his/her parents, teachers, & well-wishers, and also taking into account his/her muse in life.

The idea is to make ppl realise the importance of these little things in our lives which makes us a good human being, & not to instill these values by coercion.

the government can't change the attitude of the ppl, they can only enforce them to do as per the guidelines.............eventually it all comes down to us,
