It was just a perfect example of how all the common things the adminstration ignores can lead to a an incident which no one can even imagine. The couple had first asked 3 autowallahs, but they refused. Since the day I was born these madarch** (sorry for the language) auto wallahs of delhi have kept up with refusing and fleecing passengers. Bloody fkers Next the bus with tinted glasses and curtains(which are banned in delhi by law) was roaming on one of the most busy roads of the city. Third, the government is unable to provide proper security so they shut the city down at night. No markets, malls or metro are active after 11:30 in delhi. It feels so weird moving around this city at night. Not so much in mumbai. Isnt it safer to have MORE activity in the city at night? Even on new years eve they are stopping the metro at 8. I mean wtf? Why cant people without cars enjoy themselves? Respect for law and order needs to be brought from a rule as small as not stopping before the stop line on a traffic light. This came to light when the inmates beat up Mukesh, the main accused in the Delhi bus gangrape case, in the jail. Sources in the jail said Mukesh was also forced to consume human excreta and urine. .... After the attack , jail authorities have decided to lodge him separate from other inmates. The victim's male friend, who was beaten up by the accused bus crew, identified Mukesh in the test identification parade (TIP). The identification would help police in establishing that the other accused were also with him. The 23-year-old paramedic student was raped and badly beaten up in a moving bus while she was returning home in Mahavir Enclave area on Sunday night. Her friend had tried to rescue her but he too was badly thrashed by the accused. The duo was then stripped and dumped in Vasant Vihar area. They were consequently hospitalised by the police and the girl's condition has still been critical. Police arrested four people in connection with the rape. Main accused Ram Singh, who was the driver of the bus, and his accomplices Vinay and Pawan have been on police remand while his brother Mukesh was sent to two-week judicial custody on Wednesday. During their court appearance on Wednesday, only Mukesh had agreed to the TIP. Vinay and Pawan had confessed to being part of the gang and said there was no need for their participation in the TIP. In fact, Vinay had said that he was ashamed of his crime even as he claimed that he did not rape the girl. Admitting to beating her friend, he had said he should be hanged for his act. Some acid-like substance was also thrown at the husband's face. He managed to free himself and call neighbours for help. They searched for his wife and found her dead near a pond. She was found semi-naked. The woman's son said, "She had injuries on her head. They gang-raped and murdered her. My father identified one of them. Doesn't look like it stopped crime when public executions and hangings were a Sunday viewing for the public about a 1000 years ago either. I also thought as a society we were past celebrating men eating their own excrement. I'm not sympathizing with the rapists par unhe tattiya khilakar execute karne se koi rapes nahi rukne vale. It just shows as a collective society we aren't ready, don't have the patience and mental fortitude to study the actual deeprooted problems causing sexual frustration and lack of control in men in India, but rather progressing back in time to look for more immediate, barbaric but instantly satisfying results. This won't help anybody but maybe it'll help you sleep at night today, but you'll still have to tell your sisters to not go out at night tomorrow. The problem lies with deeper issues like upbringing, lack of education, extreme female foeticide. Combine all of this with raging hormones (which is normal in healthy men) in a conservative society and you will have rapes no matter what sort of punishments you come up with. Its only natural since a female child has more immunity than a male child and during the pediatric age itself there are more death among male. Also men engage in wars , more brutal work , accidents and so on and hence have a higher mortality rate. In India however it is quite the opposite ,female infanticide is soo widespread. More so than u think. Everyone desires a male child . Because of this only India and perhaps a few poor countries have higher male population than female. What im trying to say is that in a society which pretends like sex doesnt exist and when u have more men than women these 'rapes' become inevitable. Death penalty which is obviously a step in the right direction simply wont change anything. These rapists know the law and they are willing to take the fall for their breif sick pleasure. Plus Delhi police force is a POS. Look at Gujarat, or Tamil nadu why don't we hear cases from there? Only because the men are mature and moved ahead with the times..
