Right
Via FB, found 1 rupee in my pocket, wonder what should I do with it, watch airtel video or hire Narayan murthy. Now we have another option, buy hearty meal at Farooq abdullah's eatery. If food is so cheap in markets why do you need FSB, just go to one of these eateries and save yourself all the jhanjhat of cooking. On other side, it's a time we do this social experiment, tie Nili pagdi, lungi king, badbad, Nobel gas, and Kashmiri kabadi with chains, give them 35rs per day and ask to live in Mumbai for a month. They will be monitored by commando squad and if they cheat they will be caned on spot.
Nemo
Figure of speech?? Any one bothered to read farooq abdullah's full statement? It is shashi tharoor and cattle class all over again. At the same time senior and seasoned politicians must know how to speak. This is just laughable.
avkash
The gurdwaras do the wonderful job of feeding any 1 who comes in their langar for free ( I always praise Sikhism everywhere just for this. They do the basic service for free), does that mean poor all over india can be feed for free. ALPHA17
Sire, incumbency of 58 yrs out of 66 yrs of independent India. Can you do something, vote for whomsoever you want in power. Anyway with the recent posting of every gaffe by a INC leader, it is almost as if they are the only ones with particularly loose tongues.
Nemo
A facebook page (dont know about aliens or AI but one thing that is going to destroy (or at the very least drive collective IQ of human race in negative numbers is facebook and its comment/status section) going by the name of 'bjp gujrat' has placed derogatory comments on Amratya Sen's daughter. It features Nandana Sen, a well known actress in apparently a swim suit and the following theme- The caption said, "Amartya Sen sahab, aap pehle apna ghar aur apni beti ko sambhal lijiye, vahi bahut hoga aapke liye...Desh aur Modi par nirnay lene ke liye Bharat ke nagrik bahut hain, hame kisi bhi videshi nagrikta prapt sathiyaye buddhe ki salah nahin chahiye. Beti toh sambhali nahin jaati, baat karte hain Modi ki... sharm karo (Mr Amartya Sen, first handle your daughter, that is enough for you... the people of India are enough to decide about the country and Modi. We do not want advice from any senile old man of foreign citizenship. Can't even handle your own daughter and you talk about Modi... shame on you)." http://www.indianexpress.com/news/facebook-page-of-bjp-gujarat-takes-nasty-dig-at-amartya-sen/1147435/ All that cause the man questioned their leading face. And the page creators somehow managed to be Sexist and Regressive ("hey !! look a bikini, must be loose character !"), Patriarchal (nandana sen is 45, yet it is apparently the duty of her father to 'control' her), Clueless interpreters of the idea of free speech and concept of opinions and all around Poor graspers of inference, and conclusion (how is someone's dress choice related to her relative's political bend of mind ?) - in one stroke. National Election season surely brings out idiocracy induced LULZ aplenty. Not 3 days had gone since a few upa members gave a public account of their (shocking) idea of food prices evoking collective face-palms across nation, and now the people on other side (though the said fb page is not an official one) took it as a challenge and are setting new standards of face palm inducing actions. :| _
Right
As soon as Amartya Sen's mad support for FSB broke out, all the PTs (you know what is PT) got into the action. If someone gets called out by half a dozen other economists, and then slings mud on grounds which are totally politically motivated, you can assume he is done here. The first comment which I read was, "Amartya Sen's only contribution to India...Nandana sen.

Nah, no idea what PT is, does it have to do anything with the 'pappu' and 'feku' identities ? These so called social media 'wars' are another version of nerds raging and bitching incessantly on internet on any topic- immaterial and irrelevant to real life workings. Both sides are delusional if they think xyz numbers of followers or likes or retweets etc will translate in something real on ground. Seriously, it is laughable when congress of bjp mentions numbers on fb and twitter with un sarcastic pride

Nemo
Natural uncouth and uncivilized reaction, surely. But not one would associate with learned and able supporters. If people have problems with Sen's economic policy they why not debate it properly ? This kind of mud slinging only exposes the hopeless levels of maturity, intellect and openness to freedom of opinions in a certain section of people. Modi is the face of bjp and a very competent leader insofar as growth and administration in his state are concerned. There obviously are some question marks on his religious tolerance (or lack thereof) and ignoring a discussion about them wont do anyone any good. Narendra Modi has had a good record post 02 and he should not have to be violently shielded from any criticisms on his govt's policy. A good leader should be able to acknowledge diverse opinions and then debate against them putting his or her rebuttal in order to win over the detractors The ultra defensive attitude of bjp and modi fanatics is quite unappealing and reeks of insecurity. Just look at the usual reaction to Jagdish Bhagwati's comment where he said that- He wont vote for modi and that he doesnt have any particular affection for him. He also said that he doesnt have any particular affection for Rahul Gandhi. Keeping aside the fact that Mr. Bhagwati wont be able to vote for either as he is not an Indian citizen, what is curious to see is how he, who was the darling of bjp crowd up till a few days ago for countering Sen's theories, suddenly faced all kinds of nasty comments from the very same supporters. http://m.timesofindia.com/india/No-particular-affection-for-either-Modi-or-Rahul-Jagdish-Bhagwati/articleshow/21337959.cms Every one, particularly citizens have the right to comment, praise and criticise a nation's political discourse. Idea is to have some substance behind your claims (or counter claims to some made by some one else against you) without stooping to rowdy mudslinging. _
Right
I don't know why do you pretend that we have "Statesmen" in politics in india. I mean from so many years I have been seeing the Congressi bakc**** ing about BJP. This VISA thing is nothing, earlier some retards went ahead and spoke to US consuls about the internal problems due to so called saffron terrorism. Sharam Aani chahiye BC. I believe you understand problems in implementing social schemes in india, from practical perspective. It's no rocket science anyway. So when you are being a shill for getting support on your own stupid agenda, then don't expect opposition will spare you, i don't think people think of Amartya more than a Congress agent. Bhagwati had perfectly balanced comment. sen earlier sabotaged Kalam's plan of reviving nalanda, in fact kalam was so angry about it that he left it. Sen has done nothing other than writing books and being a poverty pornographer.

In-fact only the final para stated how the Navy should generate a stranglehold on the international trade-lines between China and Africa via Indian Ocean. Still glad it was up there.
