godspeed4476
Dont worry we will have general election thread soon and will discuss all the points in detail with facts on his international visits or bringing the nurses back and all the other things errr.....The BJP can hold the ground on its own even if all the allies are to walk out. Why would there be general elections soon?
Paapi
Hmmmmm.. Well by general election s I didn't meant 'the general elections' but that we keep on having elections some place or else like we have elections coming up in Delhi. Then this can be discussed in detail in appropriate thread. Though anyone is too keen this can be discussed in detail here. Though I can pretty much assure you that it will derails the thread completely.

Right
Until textbook don't tell that India's first PM was such an a**hole that he gave himself country's biggest civilian honor--Bharat Ratna OR that he pushed for amendment of "freedom of speech" clause in constitution OR that he earned ATKT while studying abroad and was given "Gentleman's pass" OR that he wasn't called Punditji by anyone but Congressi sycophants, The textbooks are wrong anyway. Paapi
Can you please help me understand if u r crticising nehru? And do u think it is right for RSS to 'help' in rewriting history books?
Right
Textbooks, not history books. Our textbooks need to tell truth to students, can't let them sing eulogies of morons for ever.
Paapi
I would be a bit more careful while talking about ex PMs. We are a bit better educated. Only politicians can go Down so bad that they can use such language. Doesny matter how good or bad these PMs were they did much more for the country then we can ever do. I dont want to sound like a preacher or so but think of it, you don't like Nehru and Gandhi so you use this, and I don't like Modi or many BNp leaders so I shall also use such language? How would it sound? Also how do we define what's right for text books and what not? What can be right according to you may or may not be the truth or fact. That is why it is always suggested that when making such changes make it as independent as possible and keep all the stake holders in confidence of the changes otherwise you are looking for trouble. And that is how things work in democracy. Always remember and check the history, things always change. Always. Wether it is kings in monarchy or ruling parties. Today what's bad may tomorrow be considered are revolutionary and vice versa. So yesterday Nehru was a visionary a leader today he is being looked down. Similarly yesterday Swamg was a crook a thief and an opportunitist but today he is an intelligent person and so on. This is what politics is. Right
There is no neutrality... this is why it needs to tell truth as it happened....as it is recorded in history. So when you read the Civic sc book, it should say. Bharat Ratna is highest civilian honor of the country. Its awarded by president of India on recommendations of Prime Minister. Two of its awardees, Nehru and Indira Gandhi recommended their own names and got awarded. The third recipient from Nehru clan was Rajiv Gandhi, who was given this award posthumously, 3 months after his death, along with Sardar Patel who also received it posthumously, 40 yrs after his death. Paapi
I am not sure how this ia correct or not since the only thing I have seen is a post from swamy about thi but lets say that Ok and you start with this change. but do you think BJP will always be in power and congress and other parties will never come in power ever again. And when they will then what will they change? And once you start, where will you stop. Next would be how Shahjehan used tax money to build Taj Mahal? Right
This is the problem, noone other than Congress has got chance to change this. Years after years books teach millions of students what Congress want them to know and believe. And for this very reason, people shouldn't lose sleep if a new guy wants to change and add things. Take it sportingly and criticise solely on content its authenticity or completeness not on basis of prejudiced notions. I think we had enough OT

His 125th birthday special, go teach your kids this first before losing your sh*t over Batra. If you think history is twisted, then you try to correct it & not twist it further as per your benefit.. But the problem with having an organisation like RSS in charge of your education is not just about history but it's much more than that.. They are a lunatic organisation & when it comes to education/books, Batra is the leader of the lunacy gang.. These right wingers always try to work in a way which benefits their 'hindutva' theme in the guise of protecting the 'culture' & 'values' of a society without realizing that culture & values are not something which have to always remain constant.. They evolve just like everything else on the planet.. You can't just take culture from one particular time period of a region & call it the defacto culture for eternity.. It evolves, our morality evolves, our value systems evolve too.. These right winger goons from organisations like Bajrang Dal, RSS, VHP etc have a problem with 'public display of affection' because it is somehow against our culture but they have no problem whatsoever in public display of violence.. Idiocy at it's extreme.. So why do these people remain hell bent on preserving 1 particular type of value system? Because it helps them propagate their ideology & control power.. And everyone should oppose these kinds of things when they start happening, because if people let it go in for too long, it can create a lot of problems for future generations.. Education is the foundation on which you make your future generations prosper, if you f**k that up, the problems might not seem apparent right now, but in future they will definitely occur..
