What? They don't even have1000 rs?

Yes anyone can file defamation.

They can ask Jayalalitha if they need any help. She recently filed one against him. :P

They are either really tolerant or Besharam that they don't do anything...i believe the latter.

Vadra a saint?

By no stretch. Its not bizness he does its crookedness. :D

Uska hisaab hoga don't Worry.

Like I said before....ANYONE can go file a defamation case against Swamy but they know its all true what he says so no one can even raise an eyeball.

Forget Nehru, he has been brought to his birthday suit, Shashi tharoor isn't able to speak a single word against Swamy in Sunanda pushkar case. What stops him?

Did BJP file a defamation case against him for saying that they rigged the EVM machines in the general elections where ABV became PM or did RSS file a defamation case for getting called a communal organisation?

His allegations must be true then, if they haven't..

You are just looking for something that is not present. If you are suggesting that SBI gave the loans on directions from Modi then thats quite a ridiculous assumption.

No 1 is a saint in the word of Indian Polity. I have no doubt that Adani does finance and back Modi to great extent, just like the other business houses do it for almost every party.

This Sums it up.

People here are so naive ...Even Manmohan with most clean Image in the Politics ever has turned blind eye to many favors His party was granting to others...Dont tell me the always defended as Greatest Finance Minister is so dumb that he cannot understand scams in billions happening right around him. He himself has signed papers of coal mining granted which SC has called illegal.

Lets face it No one will be able to even reach The PM level without these big business organizations money support.

How many have you noticed Ambani's name in World Most Powerful list?? they dont make it to the list just because of money their is lot that revolves around...Infact Ambani i would say is more Powerful than any other Big Political Leaders these days.

The most thing that irritates me about Congress is not just corruption and all...woh toh BJP aur AAM aur Admi ...joh power mein ayenga sab karenga....It is this Royal Family thing that i cannot take it.

This country has become their possession.

The problem I see in fiberals and congis that they would support a party which has screwed this country over and over and all the fronts in 60 yrs.

But from the new guy they expect nothing but Utopia, reminding him of his election promises within a week as if the promises Congressis made in 60 yrs were all fulfilled.

The point is that and its on my personal level that I want nationalism, national security and interests to be upheld above anything. Congress or any other parties except Shivsena apart from BJP does that. I mean not even a oomph about giving terse reply to border excursions or strong determination to weed out terrorists. Ulta they politicize terror and play shitty politics. Diggy was seen releasing a book which holds RSS responsible behind 26/11 I mean isn't this shameful especially being a senior politician.

Congress or any party in that matter are not committed in this matter, so i couldn't care any less about them.

If they become anti-national or borderline anti-national like SP or TMC, i will have nothing but contempt for them.

After this comes so many matters, development, governance, financial fitness, corruption....but nothing tops national security for me.

That said this Govt has already delivered for me, China has been contained, infra along the border is being developed. Pakistan has been shown its place.

Remains West Bengal which will go along with Jehadidi. The BD govt is very supportive right now and this is right time we resolve issues with them as well.

Govt is going for defence purchase worth 80k cr this year. He is meeting Chiefs regularly....

When you have ISIS lurking your borders ready to fulfill their wet dream of Gazwa-e-hind, you dont want but anyone like Modi in center that if National security is your priority too.

It is really strange to see that people give argument as that the world has started just now. Talk about congress selling the country for 60 years. Ya right!

How can one so be naive? Of course congress has done things wrong and that is the reason that today they are sitting in opposition. But selling country for 60 years...!!!

And then talk about being nationalist and patriot and make fun of the other leaders in same sentence?? Leaders who were leaps ahead of anyone who can be today.

People talk about Nehru being Naive and how many of us remember Nehru’s first, 14-Member Union Cabinet included six non-Congressmen: B.R. Ambedkar, Syama Prasad Mookerjee, John Mathai, Baldev Singh, Shanmukham Chetty and C.H. Bhabha. In the similar line, we talk about Sardar Patel being an excellent leader and How Nehru treated them. A serious height of ignorance. Both the leader did had differences just like in any government but did anyone even checked what did Patel had to say about Nehru? Here is something Patel said:

.It was, therefore, in the fitness of things that in the twilight preceding the dawn of independence he should have been our leading light, and that when India was faced with crises after crises, following the achievement of our freedom, he should have been the upholder of our faith and the leader of our legions. No one knows better than myself how much he has laboured for his country in the last two years of our difficult existence.

If today India is the fastest growing economy, I am sure it has not happened over night. If BJP says they were not in power for 60 years, obviously that means someone else somewhere was doing the job right. But we completely ignore this as well.

How of many of us remember that the so called FDI we talk about or the globalization we talk about is a result of Manmohan singh bringing the historical Budget in 1994 as a FM. We will choke down on the fact that the same BJP who today is running from pillar to post to show how they are trying to get FDI were the same people how walked out on this budget and created a ruccus nationwide as if nation was being sold. How many of us remember the bandhs which were called nationwide against this budget at that time and the inconvenience it caused.

People who talk about giving a befitting reply to Pakistan conveniently forget that it was during Congress rule India won war(s) against Pakistan. I know the reaction would be army won the war, yes it did, but government was also there. The government which did its job, that time to support the army. "Jai Jawan, Jai kisaan" anyone remember?

People who talk about India a nuclear power by NDA conveniently forget that it was 1983 when for the first time it was said that "madam, buddha has smiled".

People who say that it is too early to question are same who asked Kejriwal in 49 days what he had done and now call him a looser.

2 years back we all were crying about how Congress is against Lokpal and how it is the need of the day and transparency is needed and today we sit on it as if all is well, as if corruption .. what corruption?

On top of it, people have the audacity to support Swamy.. I mean seriously. Yes, he may have so called "exposed" Gandhi but have you even checked his past and the posts on FB done by him. The kind of venom he is spitting...So many of his posts have been proved false. And what kind of information is he trying to provide?.. just look at the comments there, people there talk about killing others just like that in the most graphical way and will hurl abuses on each other's god??. Is this the leadership you call inspiring on the pretext of calling the truth and nationalism? and then you call on Al qaeda and Taliban and what not that they propogate hate and extremism!! You have no moral right to call them that.

FYI before you say it is not his page but managed might want to google the fact that he approves of it and his name is being used there.

Congress did bad, really bad but they also did good things in 60 years.. it may have been better but it may have been worse as well. When Indira Gandhi went to meet the US president she was kept on wait for more than an hour, and today when our PM goes, he gets respect and recognition. I wont even touch on UN -India relationship. That does means something went right and it didnt happened over night or in 5 months.

The point I am trying to make is that If someone has done wrong, do say it is wrong but just to prove that you are right, dont make others look wrong. You may be a BJP supporter or Congress or AAP but just that you support one doesnt means that other are shitty. Calling Jayalalitha a bad leader, yeah right she may be but she also made her state better, today statewise, TN is ahead of Gujrat. Give the devil its due please.

I have always said that this is not the proper thread or place to discuss so I will sign out on this now and would call it over from my side on this. What you want to make of this post is upto you.

WOW! all that India is the fastest growing economy is not Manmohans doing now...beside India is not the only growing economy other under develop countries(brazil) saw major growth around same time when India's economy started rising. Lets accept the fact that world was moving to Globalization which allowed lot of countries to use their resources like never before. India with its hundreds of Million of manpower and Superb IT sector helped pushed the economy to what it is today.

Also are you forgetting the Poverty in India....do you know how many Indians still cant afford a day's meal??

People who talk about giving a befitting reply to Pakistan conveniently forget that it was during Congress rule India won war(s) against Pakistan. Lal Bhadur Shashtri's Death is still a mystery ...I am pretty sure he was killed to make space for Nehru-Gandhi's ....And you gonna bring 1970s war to say we gave befitting reply to Pakistan and that we should accept 26/11 and beheading the Indian soldiers and parading his Head in open bazar in Pakistan because in 1970 we did won a war with them.

People who talk about India a nuclear power by NDA conveniently forget that it was 1983 when for the first time it was said that "madam, buddha has smiled".

China became a Nuclear power in 1964 ...Homi Baba wanted to make India nuclear power in 60s as well but Nehru stopped him . We would have become Nuclear power way back sir... lekin "nehru idiot tha"

People who say that it is too early to question are same who asked Kejriwal in 49 days what he had done and now call him a looser.

USA India relation was never good during those days What could have you accept them treating Indira Gandhi . Beside What Good treatment do we get now....APJ Kalam was searched in USA airport Security .

A High Profile CM of this country (Modi) is denied visa ...you think it was just Modi's Disrespect ..It was Entire Nation that was ashamed. A elected Leader of the people of India denied Visa.

Headley A CIA double Agent was not given access to India even after repeated request until after long time where as They Got Immediate access to Kasab.

This is USA you talking about they will respect us When we Become a great Power to reckon with .

Anyways all i want to say once again is Nehru-Gandhi family do not own this country that each of their member will rule this country. Their time is done.

Nehru-Gandhi family have been shown in recent elections what the public thinks about them, people still can't keep on harping on about that issue. The reason why people wanted to get rid of congress was to get better governance, lesser corruption etc etc.. But till now Modi hasn't done anything to actually tackle those issues.. He has actually kept on fooling the general public on issue of black money just like every other party in the country - difference being his relentless PR campaign to pretend that he is tackling this issue while doing nothing about it.

This single issue which by far got them the most support pre-election, perfectly shows the double faced nature of his. Read this article :-

According to the journalist M K Venu, a government-commissioned report on domestic black money by the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) estimates that our parallel economy is 70 per cent of gross domestic product, approximately $1.4 trillion. The report has sector-wise estimates of the generation of undeclared funds; more than one Chief Election Commissioner has, separately, made it clear which “sector” they believe is the biggest source of black money (hint: Indian elections). Which is perhaps why the NIPFP report, parked in cold storage by the UPA for almost a year, continues to remain unreleased. Which is also why the humbug over Swiss accounts is the perfect distraction from the real conversation on undeclared wealth, which no political party – ruling or otherwise – would like us to have.

Do people actually believe that Modi isn't smart enough to know all this? He is genuinely guided by good emotions to still keep on talking about Swiss Banks just out of a wrong understanding of the issue?

And this too :-

With the Gujarat model elevated to the status of a ‘Bible’ for administrators after BJP came to power in the country, the performance audit carried out by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) on implementation of the sanitation campaign in Gujarat during the period 2008-13 (Modi rule) provides proof of how reality is clouded to forge myths and then build castles on it.

While the Prime Minister is now exhorting the nation to set new standards in sanitation, his own record in Gujarat leaves much to be desired. According to the CAG, 5000 ‘anganwadi’ centres and 4000 schools do not have toilet facility. This despite the Supreme Court having asked for separate toilets for all schools by 2012.

The report also provides an insight into how funds were sought to be diverted for Modi government jamborees and the amount budgeted in sanitation awareness creation. “The government stated that buses were hired for transportation of public for krishi mahotsav and as awareness of sanitation and waste management was provided here so the expenditure was booked under IEC activities. The reply was not acceptable”, it pointed out, adding that “the individual household latrine targets had been inflated as the progress reports were generated on funds released instead of on actual construction”.

But somehow people ignore all such things, just because it's their favorite politician on the PM's seat. How does that benefit the country?

@Paapi, Congress govt have done some good deeds for the country, but the thing is, it could've been so much more .... in the last 2 decades or so, this has been more visible thanks to globalization and a very active media (TV/internet etc). Yes, compared to countries like Pak, India has achieved much more, but if you compare to other advanced countries like South Korea / China etc, which were more or less in the same state as India in 1947, India has lagged far behind, and who else can you blame for that, if not the one party that ruled the most for the past 60 years ?

Modi is just 5 months old, and its a long, tough road ahead for him to deliver on the promises made. Its not like he has a magic wand to wave and bring India to prosperity ! What Modi can perhaps do in his first term is lay the groundwork for improvement/progress. I guess, over half a century of corruption / mismanagement needs atleast 10-15 years to overcome, but the important thing is someone has to start it ! And whether you agree or not, most people are confident that Modi is the person to start it !

I will see if someone Storify-ed the #NehruFailures which was high trending on SM.

There is stuff little known about him, which should be enough to 'do' him.

Basically, his socialist/communist thinking, leaning towards USSR, indifference to India's security concerns, ineptness to bring uniform civil code are grave mistakes done at foundation of the nation. not to mention going to UN prematurely and agreeing for plebiscite on K.

but if you compare to other advanced countries like South Korea / China etc, which were more or less in the same state as India in 1947,

This.

The USSR leaning has done biggest damage to India. Pakistan failed despite following US is due to their internal conflicts is different thing, results would have been very plesant for India. "What if" syndrome I know.

Well said Neo.

People keep thinking of how much we have progressed but when you compare to the world and other under develop countries ...We still no where.30-40 crore people still under poverty line is poor state of affairs.

Since last 60 years which Congress leader thought about okay women and children going to field for open defecation are not safe . Modi is working at a very ground level .

Sometimes what Surpise me in a positive way is that People are expecting more out of Modi in 5 months than COngress in a decade....Shows that he is someone you can keep expectation . Otherwise Moun Moun Singh and Madam toh hope hi khatam kar di thi.

So basically looking in retrospect, everything about what a leader did in the past can be cast in shadow. According to your statement.

Why was Nehru left-leaning, because that was what almost all our leaders were in that generation, Subhash Chandra Bose was left-leaning and was shocked when Nazi Germany declared war on the Soviet Union.

The Soviet Bloc was also the only major power that rallied behind India, 1948, we suffered terrible shortfall in our food-grain production and Pakistan secured faster food aid from the US while the Indian delegate was made to suffer derision and imperial scorn because we were not on the same diplomatic page.

That did not stop Nehru from tying up with American education institutions to commit to setting up institutes in the country (which packed up and left in '64).

The only war India lost, the '62 war was the one in which we asked the US for aid and were left standing alone, after that every war till date has been carried out on a defence organisation fielding majority of Soviet equipment. When the US tried to force our arm in '71, the Soviets even trailed their carrier group with two hunter-killer nuke submarines into the Bay of Bengal.

This.

The USSR leaning has done biggest damage to India. Pakistan failed despite following US is due to their internal conflicts is different thing, results would have been very plesant for India. "What if" syndrome I know.

We can 'What if' the entire history and things will come out different, that does not always mean better.

Also, USSR leaning has done great damage to India, okay. So Pakistan creating its own demons in the '80's which were exacerbated with Saudi money and US clandestine support is actually how we should have ended up?

We have done alright, this nation is still free, we still have the quaint notions of personal freedom to call upon, yes there are shortcomings and these will exist in a human society, no matter what politicians ends up heading the system. Because a utopia cannot exist within this world, it is anathema to nature.

Kya Soviet Soviet bhai...Kaha tha Soviet Jab India asked for help during Chiense war ...By Maintaining neutrality they infact supported CHina because of similar ideologies...No Offence Alpha but you are so naive when you talk about Soviet-India relations....Woh log bhi apna hi interest dekhta hai...The reason they came to India's help during 1971 war was in their interest as well. It was to fight USA influence in Asian Region and India was there bigger partner in the world.

I hope you do know that sometime back KGB reports said how lot of Indian politicians were on their Pay scales and how they manage to keep India under influence by creating anti-USA sentiment.

USA bhi apna hi interest dekha...China was good in their books and they wanted to use China as against soviet by creating Equal power in China and they are doing same with us today.

Sab apna Interest dekhta hai...Sab country. Khali India hi hai bc joh interest ko compromise karte hua aya ...Whether it was Indo-CHina war...Accepting Tibet as Internal part of China....Giving up Sea Line recently after accepting to Bangladesh accepting International law....Prolonging Anti-Diplomatic ties with Israel for Muslim votes.

Yes and I have had the chance to stay in Singapore and Oz too. Cheers!

It is not really about just AFSPA, just the fact that most conventional media outlets like Google are not present in the nation should be reason enough to be scared.

And please China is no saint when it comes to Human Rights violations.

It is a single party system and if it wants something to be done (as a message to the world or for economic development) it will be carried out with ruthless efficiency, does not matter if it marginalises a sub-class in its path.

Economic development is not the be all and end all of a country's image. How they achieve it and their methodology has to be scrutinised too. Tomorrow if they build dams on the Brahmaputra and its glacial tributaries and it screws India and Bangladesh, will you live easy with that?

Maybe you will be happy if Delhi ends up under a perennial blanket of smog like Beijing and Shanghai. Hey, economic development FTW!

You are free to leave the country, you know. Instead of coming up with straw men argument like this.

First, nobody is saying China is a saint, way to misunderstand the entire topic of discussion and slew mud at others ! I just said many in India feel, it had the capability to achieve much more, but instead was held back by rampant corruption and mismanagement , and many blame it on congress since it ruled India for the longest time. So don't bring in unwanted talks of human rights violations and stuff here, that's not our point.

Second, you need to end these personal attacks asking others to leave country etc. We all love India , and we were just having a discussion here. Atleast paapi and goner4life are being polite and talk on topic instead of personal attacks. So, if you cannot maintain some basic etiquette of a civil discussion, dont bother jumping in !

So, corruption was not present in China?

Was not present in Singapore?

Was not present in any nation?

Is completely eradicated?

There is difference between our and their governance, over there, a single party system took hold and that allowed them to achieve whatever they wanted at an accelerated pace of development. That does not mean, it is the way to pursue economic growth in this country.

Our founding fathers had a different vision for our socio-economic system to grow into, it was and is not flawless but it has led us up, it is in need of a revamp and maybe Mr. Modi is the man who will provide it. I am not denying that but coming up with straw men argument is not going to serve your purpose. You know, take my freedom and give me development. No.

Just because I told someone that he has the freedom to leave a nation means I am getting personal. Cool.

If a discussion means vilifying personalities and casting them down constantly for decisions that they took under a burden you have never taken is how you define 'discussion', cool.
