:D G stop being such a grammar Nazi, machan.

Either way, it wont happen. I think the heads of Google and Facebook met Sibal and told him his being a douche.

Google has issued official statement that it does not support illegal stuff, and that everybody has a right to have a different opinion and that it will not stop people from expressing their opinions.

Facebook and Orkut by the way already have a "Report" button so in any case if something is not right then the concerned people can report it and it will be taken down.

I think the government is soon to employ some more people who will only search Facebook and Orkut to find morphed images of Congress leaders and report them :giggle:

Also if people missed it then #IdiotKapilSibal was the most trending one on Indian Twitter yesterday. You should read it, it had hilarious sh*t.

At least some people from the media were pretty open about criticizing this move. (MTV official handle and Raghu's personal one as well)

A friend of mine has been labeling allegations against cricket organisations(mostly India related matches) regarding spot fixing, saying it still happens regularly. Here he explains an instance from the world cup. An interesting read.

Kolkata fire: 73 dead, AMRI faces tough action

CNN-IBN

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee claimed that at least 73 people are dead in the major fire that broke out at AMRI Hospital in Dhakuria in south Kolkata on Friday. Out of the 73 dead, 70 were patients and 3 were the hospital staff. Reports said that the hospital authorities fled from the spot. Meanwhile, the registration of the hospital has also been cancelled by Mamata.

Out of the 150 people admitted in the hospital, 90 were rescued.

As angry relatives gathered at the hospital to look for their loved ones, they vent their ire at the lack of relief and rescue efforts by the hospital authorities by damaging AMRI's properties.

Sad really. May their souls RIP. I read that the hospital openly violated safety laws. Its not just the hopital staff, but even the authorities who ignored such violations need punishment. But as usual, I think people forget and move on and the case just collects dust :(

And why do politicians visit these places right at such moments ? It seems the police lathicharged many ppl to make way for the politicians....so sad. They have no use being there anyway. Can't they visit once the situation is under control or something ?

very good and true points there...

And this hospital is so popular and good, that you get VVIP admitted there too...and this is the pathetic condition of such a famous healthcare centre ...that brings to thought what kind of fire fighting measures and safety laws the smaller ones must be having.

as for politicians, well its the same situation everywhere...a disaster..you see the big names landing there and trying to get political mileage out of it...and even making the situation worse indirectly, like police having to control the extra security for them..plus unnecessary more crowds...

but as you said...this will be in news for days...maybe few weeks..and then everyone will forget and move on to the next... disaster

exactly...most of the deaths are due to suffocation,as reported by the local news channels

Its quite embarrassing that its a big hospital. They are normally specifically designed to deal with such situation.

I just saw the interview of the chief of the hospital. He claims that there was no delay on the fire brigade's part. He said that some of the hospital's sections were too narrow for them to access, and the smoke was a major reason for their inability to save the victims. I don't know to what extent that is true.

Its probably true. Most hospitals in Chennai have very wide corridors and stairways to help quick evacuation. Im guessing thats the general layout for hospitals.

Some reporter from NDTV even went into the hospital after a few hours and showed some footage. It looked like a Posh hospital. They even said that the hospital had received it's NOC from the fire dept. only 6 months back (a hospital needs to get it every year anew). It's a really saddening that this happened after all this :/

I'll deliver my child, says Mumbai's 15-year-old girl impregnated by boyfriend

MUMBAI: The fifteen-year-old girl who is six months pregnant is oblivious to the uproar her 'condition' has created not just in her family, but her neighbourhood in Borivli (E). She's crushed by her boyfriend's refusal to take responsibility and marry her, but is determined to raise her child and not give it up for adoption, which her parents have been urging her to do.

The Kasturba Marg police on Saturday had arrested her 17-year-old boyfriend on charges of rape and sent him to the Dongri observation home after the case came to light.

"My boyfriend and I came to know about the pregnancy at least a month-and-a-half ago, but he told me that we would look for a solution together," the girl, lying down in the hospital cot, said. She is currently in Bhagwati Hospital for tests, but will be discharged soon. "But as days passed he stopped taking my calls and started ignoring me. That hurt me the most," said the Class X teenager, adding that she's prepared to miss her SSC exam to take care of her child.

The girl's parents realized she was pregnant well after the twentieth week when she started showing. They approached a private clinic to terminate her 24-week pregnancy, but the doctors there alerted the police given that abortions after 20 weeks are illegal.

"I will deliver the child and hand it over to him (my boyfriend). Later, I will insist that he marry me," she said. Her father, an employee in a tailoring shop did not want to comment on the issue. He however, made it clear that the child will be given to an adoption agency. In anger, he destroyed her cellphone, cutting off access to her friends. "My friends were upset when I told them about my physical relationship with my boyfriend. They also threatened to complain about this to my family," said the teenager. "Now, my entire neighbourhood knows about my case."

The unsuspecting teenager had given in to her boyfriend's demands of having intercourse without protection as the latter kept on saying he would be marrying her anyway. "He used protection once or twice but later stopped using it," she said. She also said that she had absolutely no knowledge of contraception, or ways to prevent pregnancy.

When she missed her periods for around four consecutive months, her boyfriend bought her a pregnancy kit. He also gave her an abortion pill, which did not work as it has to be taken within ten weeks of pregnancy.

I read the article in times today morning and I was surprised that how did they charge the boy with rape. Consensual sex with minor is a rape, but even the boy was 17. Why are all the laws biased to punish men? 1st the draconian dowry law, biased adultery law and now this
