First they battled to oust one dictator, only to bring in another and a more powerful one at that. Why are the western govt., keeping mum on this ? Why do you want anyone to intervene? playstation Posted December 25, 2011 Report Share Posted December 25, 2011 IAF draws flak for using AN-32 for VIP duties The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) reprimanded the defence ministry and IAF for modifying the AN-32 aircraft in VIP configuration and flying them for eight years even though there were no government sanctions for modification and the IAF was short of AN-32 platforms. The IAF argument of temporary fitments of VIP seats and the use of these aircrafts to carry the chiefs and senior officers for morale boosting of troops did not cut ice with the powerful House panel, which felt that the “modification was irregular and unjustified and more so when it was done despite non-approval of the government and IAF did not have adequate number of serviceable aircraft.” The Air Headquarters had modified six AN-32 during 2001-03 for VIP use. Prior to that two similar aircraft were modified between 1992 and 1999 for similar purposes. The modifications were carried out despite availability of two Boeing aircrafts, four executive jets, seven Avros and six helicopters with the IAF Communications Squadron – which is in charge of VIP flights. Some of the tweets regarding it :- "#Mumbaikars don't even go to vote, why would they bother to go watch a old man fast for them." "#Mumbaikars can only 'adjust' " - True!! "A city repeatedly marking its name in histry ovr sevral bomb blast, ths time gt a chance 2 mark its name ovr a revolution.Mumbaikars ignored" "More Mumbaikars would have turned up at MMRDA if he would have guaranteed seats for everyone...in the local trains" "Interesting dichotomy in Mumbai,they dont turn out to vote, they dont turn out for Anna Hazare, what will bring Mumbaikars to the streets ?" Sad but true... U may argue about some of the speech and methods adopted by so-called 'Team Anna' but u cannot question the validity of the protest. But majority of my post was related to creating awareness about the issue and I don't have those posts saved me, that I can post it whenever I want.. Totally dissapointed by this, I have been perhaps one of the oldest member on this forum even though I don't write many posts, but I almost come here daily and u are saying that it was ur wish to delete those posts and I can write again if I want is really really disappointing...
