 Exactly

Yeah, this was kinda known - I heard about it straight from my Chinese roommate, one of whose relatives was 'sent' to such a training camp, paid by the govt. to do just that all her life and is still trying for the Olympic team in swimming (but unlikely to make it given that she's trying to beat the lady you saw win Gold recently :P ). No other way to get this kinda insane performance year after year. Except the Americans somehow do it by importing their athletes

Appam chu***ya. Saw tht mens double match, if paes would have had a good partner, he might have made it. Also, Boppana is Appam Pappam Chu, he should have left the pairing decision to the indian olympic authority/ tennis body, instead of selecting sides on national television.

I tght star sports hd was supposed to.

Watch online.

AFAIK, they were discussing at the sports center after showing the epic fedrer match, that OC has decided to move the match to court 12, and the court did not have any cameras or stuff. anyways just read online that the match has been postponed for tmorrow and Indians were trailing at 2-3 in 2nd set (with opposition having service) not a good news

Olympics 2012: Row over Vikas Krishan's 'loss' , India to lodge protest

Indian boxer Vikas Krishan (69kg) ousted from London Olympics after International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) overturns the decision of his pre-quarterfinal bout that he had initially won on Saturday.

Apparently, Vikas Krishan has been penalized two points for physically holding the American boxer and two additional for his behaviour during the bout.

Vikas was penalized for two points after refree failed to warn on him on the second ocassion after holding the American boxer.

Another two point were penalized on Vikas Kumar after he spit out the gumshield- an act of indiscipline in the ring.

"There were a total of nine (9) holding fouls committed by the Indian boxer in the third round alone. However the Referee only gave one caution," the AIBA said in a statement after a review by its Competition Jury.

Taking strong view of the decision of the AIBA, the Indian boxing team is set to meet at 10:00am (London Time) to decide future course of action in Vikas Krishan`s ouster from Olympic Games, Chef-de-Mission Brig. P K Muralidharan Raja has said.

The Indian Olympic Association too has reacted strongly in favour of the Indian boxer.

This is a very wrong decision, everything was going on Live and we know who is playing well, said IOA VP Tarlochan Singh on Vikas Krishan.

"In the second round, at the time 02:38, the boxer from India spitted out his gumshield intentionally. However the referee didn't give any warning," it added.

Based on the AIBA Technical & Competition Rules 12.1.9, the Referee should have given at least two (2) warnings to the Indian boxer.

Although the boxer from India intentionally spitted out his gumshield, the Referee's view was blocked by the boxer from the USA and was not able to see the action.

At least four (4) points should have been awarded to the boxer from the USA. Therefore the final score should be 13:15 in favour of the USA. The protest is accepted and the winner of Bout #142 is Errol Spence (USA), said the statement from AIBA.

Earlier, The twenty-one-year-old Krishan moved into the quarterfinals of the men's welter weight (69 kg) category by prevailing over Errol Spence of USA at the ExCel Arena in London on Friday night.

The AIBA has now declared Spence as the winner and four extra points have been awarded to him. The final score now is 15-13 in favour of the American boxer.

Spence will now take on Andrey Zamkovoy of Russia in the quarterfinals.

Phitte muh, what a sad thing to say. :ranting:

Why do you need to become a 'rubber' when its available in bulk in pure latex forms in markets, that too very cheap?

Shame China, Shame!

And don't tell me its one of your sodding measures to control population. <_<

On the vikas incident. I agree on the technical points raised by the Americans. However the penalty should have been asked for & added at the time of the match itself.

& even if the match referees view was blocked, isn't the scoring done by the 3 judges sitting outside? EVERONES view was blocked or what.

Not fair because the penalty should have been imposed at the time. Or should all teams start protesting after the matches are over & you're looking at the match reel in the locker? Then just remove referees altogether, & have bouncers to maintain decorum. Judgment after video checking only.
