KnackChap
Today, PlayStation 3 is the result of anything but focus, and Nintendo has regained the position as the leading console maker that Sony took from it. And with what? A console driven by the most coherent vision of its generation. Perhaps St Augustine was right and there is only one story: of creation, fall and redemption. In PlayStation’s case, we’re now waiting on the latter. must read. http://www.edge-online.com/magazine/the-ma...-of-playstation

punit
Interesting History. Imagine Nintendo and Sony, if their partnership would have stood all these years.
Aftrunner
Interesting History. Imagine Nintendo and Sony, if their partnership would have stood all these years. Yeah I thought about that. I think them splitting was the best thing to happen to gaming. Ever. No PS brand would have meant a lot of games that were made by Sony first party studios wouldnt have existed. And I doubt Nintendo back in those days would have made gaming a household name. Even now with the selling of the Wii they are building on a platform that was initially set by Sony. Without that base MS probably wouldnt have ventured into consoles either (maybe they would have anyway, who knows). And a part of me thinks we would still have been playing games off cartridges. shockwave
Good read. I knew about the split of Nintendo and Sony, but now I know the backstory. It was SEGA who gave Nintendo a lot of complex resulting in teaming/Splitting up with Sony and then Phillips. 09/09/09 FTW.
