Hey guys let me make one thing clear.. assassin's creed is the first next gen that i saw on a friend's console.thought it was grear.but i am not buying it just to play that.. i have my eyes on a whole lot other titles like gta 4, halo 3 and bioshock.. i just wanted to know whether the games would look pretty on a SDTv.. anyway thank you guys for clearing my doubt.. :wallbash:

games definitely look better on HDTV .. so do your self a favour and dont buy a sdtv

I am playing on a 26" samsung LCD TV and graphics look amazing..

these days prices of LCD tv's have come down to an affordable range ,so get a LCD monitor and connect it through a Vga cable ... you can choose from various resolutions supported by xbox .

or else you can get a 720p 19" LCD TV(samsung) for 19000 bucks

I have an 29 inch Samsung SDTV and the graphics look cool. It will look even more sharper and clearer in an HDTV but that's about it. The game play remains the same. So you can go ahead and get it. I also had the same doubts but I am glad I went ahead and got it. Never have regretted it since.

Even I play on a 29inch LG SDTV & I totally agree with revenge.

While the Xbox360 has a nice line up of games and all i have had a bad time with it and ended with a bitter experience.

1) Bad Tech support. I really hated repeating my long a*s address and name again and again since the tech support could never understand me properly

2) Accessories are over priced like anything.

3) Some of the biggest electronics mall like Croma in Ahmedabad never stocked the latest xbox360 games. I wrote several times to M$ India but they would never fix this problem.

4) Un-reliable console which can RRoD anytime or can have a fault component like the optical drive not working properly

5) Falcon's are still not available which anyone buying right now will actually end up an old stock right from 2006 which blows.

If you can put up with all this minus (-) problem no 3 + lots of bad tech support then go for the X360.

I am not a PS fanboy or anything, hell i don't even own one but after my x360 died, i would prefer picking another console and avoiding all this headache.

I won't say it sucks not at all

Xbox Live is amazing, Gears of War and other exclusives totally rock.

Hell once my college is decided, i will pick an x360 too.

What i said is really a fact. Everyone has had similar issues. Some had an amazing experience with the support while for others like me it was bad.

i think even psp is more fun than 360, there is too much pressure on the buyer, we are always in a constant threat that something might go wrong, so in the end it sucks all the fun part and we are left with the worries :ko2:

Bad mentality.

A buyer is in trouble only if he has modded his console. Otherwise, the replacement process is quite painless and generally speedy, with occasional exceptions. IMO, the X360 warranty program is lightyears ahead of the shitty service Sony India is dishing out to PS3 ownres suffering from the S-O-D.

YES!!! Go for it. Don't worry about the TV - this system is backward compatible. You'll still get pretty good graphics and the great games will keep you hooked.

And for the other things like service level and playing on LCD / getting an HDTV - IMO they are all peripheral. You want to play some games and the xbox gives you that. Everything else will just enhance the experience. But right now seems that you are strapped to get that experience - so start off small.

Same here - I had to go for the core because of finances - and the games I want to play, play fine on it. I don't miss a wireless controller or a hard disk. I will get them in due time - but I can still spend hours on Mass Effect or Bioshock. Go for it dude.

You seem to be focused on the failure part and not on the actual abilities of the console. Its not like the console fails every 13 hours. So quit whining about the RRODs. Yeah, its prone to failure. But you get a free replacement (unless the buyer has acted on his cheap mentality and modded his console, in which case, he deserves a boot up his hiney). And you get to play some great games RIGHT NOW !!
