Phaseolus
Taken from gamespot source " * Posted May 1, 2009 10:16 am PT Japanese publisher launches placeholder site for seemingly urban-warfare-themed new game. Less than two weeks ago, Square Enix closed on its acquisition of Eidos, joining the role-playing-game-stacked Japanese company with the action-heavy British publisher. And already, it appears as if Eidos is having some influence on its new parent company. Pandemonium! Today, Square Enix launched a teaser page on its official Web site for a new game, and it appears as if urban warfare will play front and center to the proceedings. The page offers a glimpse of artwork of what appears to be a relatively near-future downtown metropolis. Cloaked in ambiguity, the page bears the title "New Game," with the word "mystery" appearing in the URL where Square Enix typically lists the pertinent game's name. After a short period of time, a quote from John F. Kennedy begins to scroll in the bottom-left corner of the screen. It reads, "The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life." Soon thereafter, pandemonium erupts in the streets, with a series of explosions rocking the city. As sirens begin to blare, the sounds of small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades become ubiquitous, with wafts of smoke and muzzle flashes rising from various points throughout the city. As noted by the banner linking to the teaser site on Square Enix's main Web site, the publisher plans to "declassify" the new project during the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo. This year's show will take place in Los Angeles from June 2-4." I wonder what kinda game results from EIDOS and Sqeenix joining heads.. Thoughts?
