sud
Hi All, I have purchased Xbox 360 this month only to play it online.I had tata indicom broadband unlimited connection with 512 kbps speed. But to access internet I have to enter Username and Password with service provider name in my laptop. But I dont hav choice to enter those parameters in XBOX 360.I tried a lot of stuff to connect xbox 360 to internet bt nothing worked.I am sure lot of people would hav faced dis problem where broadband provider is DHCP(airtel, reliance tata indicom) which requires username and password. Can some1 plz suggest me wat to do to access Xbox live.

Madhav
pretty much what freelancer said.... another solution would be to pick up an external USB ethernet port through which yu could connect yu X260 whilst already logged onto to tata mainframe with yur lappy! Systematic
Actually you're all pretty much on the wrong track. Sud you have 2 options, either you: 1.) Login through the connection on your laptop and plug the ethernet wire into your Xbox and manually input the network details of your connection into the xbox along with your MAC address to avoid any . or 2.) Buy a router, enable DHCP and provide a separate IP for your PC and one for your Xbox or just set the Xbox to automatically detect settings. This way you can have the PC and Xbox work at the same time, sharing the connection. If you need further info. on either method PM me.

Madhav
Madhav and freelancer, your answers are wrong. There is. Check again. At work now, will go home and tell you what options to select. no i am not.... untill i got myself a netgear router, i used to login to XBL through the external USB ethernet port till i gave it away to someone in need of it on GI itself... cant remember his gi name though!! and what freelancer said was for Wimax, which i use too... and it works fine for me.. @Sud -> yu have a Wimax or a direct optic fibre connection ?? Freelancer
tata indicom in bangalore has withdrawn its support for wired broadband connection, n the method i told was for wimax n sud is talking abt wimax coz u have to login each time on their portal !!!!! i had tata's wired connection too.... user n password info were saved in adsl router itself so no login needed ! but this wimax sucks only coz of this login issue ! Systematic
i thought there's an option under network settingswhere you can enter username and password? Yeah, there is, but that usually doesn't work due to PPPoE authentication.
