Shantz
Just one input: If any of you are buying discs that dont take external power, keep in mind that they will not work with low power USB ports, ie. many older PCs and a looot of embedded devices.. I know that I always think it's best to connect a USB drive (or any USB device for that matter) to the actual USB ports on the motherboard (in the back) and not those extra ones that are there on the cabinet. minimum requirement for all these 2.5" HDDs are USB 1.1! and in some rare cases USB 2.0! It's okay....I don't have any really old computers lying around

This thing can play .mkv Instead of spending this much money on this WDTV + HDD, its better to go for a good NAS.so you can stream movies around on network..even over wifi to your PS3/xbox... I am a cheapo though, so I use a router with USB port to which I connect my external HDD and voila!...it downloads all my stuff automatically and streams it to my PS3... Very cool Well, a friend of mine would be REALLY INTERESTED in this. He always wanted a means to play .mkv on his 52" Sony No he ain't got no PS3 yet but was gonna get it on my advice, but now am thinking of recommending this to him It's hasslefree. No need to keep the computer running
