I just wanted to provide everyone with a head's up that the next PlayStation 3 system software update (v.2.76) is now Live. "This is a minor update that improves the playback quality of some PS3 format software," said Sony's director of PSN operations, Eric Lempel. The last significant update, version 2.7, released in early April and, most significantly, added the ability to engage in text chat in up to three chat rooms from the XMB, including while in-game, and back up videos to an external hard drive. Note: Some users say the new firmware has sped up viewing of Trophies. YAY! EDIT: This was already mentioned in the PS3 Firmware Thread in the PS3 Section.
