Fake 360 Wireless Controller...

So monday morning so did u went his place to replace ur xbox360 fake controller replaced with genuine one..

Just got home :fear: It's a 2-hour train ride (one way) from my place to CST. He still refused to admit that it's a fake controller, but I could see it in his face that he knew and wasn't admitting it in front of all his other customers :D He was telling me "Yeh tumhara vehem hai" and I lol'ed. I could've exposed him in front of his other customers but I didn't coz obviously I had to maintain my relation with him in terms of future purchases  Woh kehte hai na...kabhi kabhi gadhe ko bhi apna baap banana pad ta hai :P Same situation.

Anyways, in the end, I told him to either replace it with an original from an Xbox console bundle or refund me, and he said he'll do it if I pay him 150 bucks more, and I agreed. He took out a 60 gb 360 Bundle and replaced the original one with the fake one, and I handed him over the extra money. Previously, I was thinking of insisting on a refund and ordering a BLACK colored one from Ebay India, but then I changed my mind given all these fake pieces of sh*t circulating in the grey market.

All in all, 2000 bucks for an original Xbox 360 Wireless controller is not a bad deal

nice to know that u got the controller replaced

:devil::fear::devil: where do u stay??

I stay at Kalyan. It takes me 2 hours to reach CST if you include everything from the time it takes me to reach Kalyan Station, reaching CST station, and then the time it takes to reach Musafir Khana. Approx 5 hours just in travelling :P But it's worth it :D

That's some experience you had mate. Couple of things i wanna ask regarding the fake.

1. Was it in some sort of packaging.

2. Was the weight and feel of the fake controller the same as your original arcade controller.

1. Was it in some sort of packaging.

It was packed and taped in the same green plastic bag that we get our controllers in any Xbox 360 console package. Just like the one in this pic...

I guess they do that to fool you into thinking they actually removed this piece of sh*t from an original Xbox console pack :wOOtjumpy:

2. Was the weight and feel of the fake controller the same as your original arcade controller.

Yes, it felt exactly like the original controller and the weight was the same too. I only realized it was a fake when I returned home and compared it directly with the one I got with my Arcade.

That's is scary indeed (will watch out out for fakes from now on).

I guess the best way to go about buying an original would in it's retail Microsoft packaging

Well, if they can fake the controller this good, whats stopping them to fake the outer package. Best idea would be to ignore the grey market altogether and go for the official one from showrooms, etc., but if you're really interested in the cheaper prices the grey market provides, then insist on a controller from an Xbox package and check it out yourself and only buy it once you're satisfied :majesty: Since you guys have already seen the pics that I posted of the fake controller, it should be relatively easy to figure it out once you have one in your hands

i guess you have a point there. i think i will stick with gi trading for future buys and ignore the Grey market altogether :panic:

What if someone from the GI trading is out to sell a fake controller that he himself isn't even aware of ? :samui: What then ? :furious:

Actually this seems to be true for the PS3 controllers as well..I recently got one and it just seems a bit odd..the analogs are losing their rubbery material onto my fingers, controls are a bit finicky, the usb port is not properly fitting the hole for it, its slightly tilted, and the led for controller port lights up 2 of them instead of one..

Hi Shantz,

Yes this was confirmed by Janu Dilber in his last post, which stated....

i went to palika to get my self a six-asis and that guy asked me do u want original or duplicate

atleast he had the courtesy to ask lol

It would be great if someone could post comparison pics for the PS3 controller as well just like I did for the 360

Edit: I was thinking about asking the mods to sticky this thread. Will help out a whole lot of potential unsuspecting victims :(
