Tyler
You guys are making it sound as if MGS had an Oscar-worthy plot. It has always been a glorified B-movie (and intentionally so). The trailer actually looked pretty good. Completely OTT. And the gore... \m/

Shadoken
I had zero interest in non-Kojima MGS game, until I saw this.. Most anticipated game of 2012 +1..... PG and LOL@ Revenge with a vengeance .... only PG could come up with a line like that
Tyler
But this clearly is not on the same level of intense impact that a Traditional MGS does & as for the Plot or story.....No ones talking about that I was not referring to your post. I posted after AtheK and the thread got bumped to a new page. I agree that it doesn't look like a traditional MGS game but with Platinum Games at least you can expect decent action. I'm not a die-hard MGS fan so I'm more than willing to give it a chance.
Tyler
You see...this is my point Gives out a wrong impression About the True Metal Gear Solid Well that kinda happens with any franchise. Anyone starting with the latest installments of DMC, Splinter Cell, Hitman etc will never understand why they were once awesome games.

It doesn't mean you change the genre. The spin-off of a humorous series can't be a action show.(example).
Snake
MGS game developed by Platinum games > MGS games developed Kojima only in that retarded brains of yours... oh and btw its not a MGS title..its a MG spin off title and thank god for that. realsoccerdude111
Kojima productions role is restricted to cut-scenes and story as far as development of MGR:Revengence is concerned. It obvious Kojima/Konami want to make sure that Platinum games don't f**k up The Metal Gear Solid experience by messing around with storyline as Platinum likes Past-Present-Future(if there is to be a title which takes place after MGR) would like to since all MGR games so far are deeply interconnected. Its also pretty clear Kojima isn't much enthusiastic about working on a exclusive Raiden hack-slash title otherwise MGR wouldn't have had been out-sourced to platinum games. Maybe Kojima will start working on MGS5 only if gets Kidnap threats again or is a very good reason why he is sneaking shy from entirely handling another MGS title. Tyler
well there is a difference in this case Metal Gear Solid was not a hack n slash game Spin-off or not. It doesn't mean you change the genre. The spin-off of a humorous series can't be a action show.(example). Why this hooplah now? I think it was pretty clear that Rising was going to be a sword-based action game. Yes the trailer was completely over the top crazy (and I can see why many are upset because of that) but I think pretty much everyone knew what genre it was going to be. Now all of a sudden people are acting as if Konami promised a stealth title and are delivering a hack-n-slash game.

They did claim that they will provide optional stealth approach.I think it makes a lot of difference. Also Platinum games is handling each and every aspect of the game apart from story and cut-scenes.That is bit worrying for Kojima as well hence Metal gear Rising instead of Metal gear solid Rising
