Crysis 2 has an ‘extreme’ graphic setting on PC

Cca9M.jpg

n what could be a huge surprise, some one with a retail copy of PC version has spotted a new graphical setting. We know that currently Crysis sports three graphics settings on the PC.

* Gamer

* Advanced

* Hardcore

This was also a reason for disappointment because there was hardly any difference between Advanced and Hardcore setting. However, this new mode called extreme seems to take it a notch higher for people with high end machines. PC version was always going to be the best, now it’s just proved aswell. Crytek have redeemed themselves and PC gamers would be pleased to know this.

There are also rumors of a maximum extreme graphics setting on PC but we’re yet to confirm this,we’ll update you as we get more leads regarding that. Stay tuned.

Crysis 2 releases next week and our reviewers are already hard at work, we’ll have the review up for you soon.

Update: The new extreme setting is infact the previously known hardcore setting. They changed the names of the graphic settings, its now good, very good and extreme.

Water on PS3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 360

PS3 is brighter too

but 360 has more objects and a better framerate

its obvious that it was optimized for 360

Change the brightness with a click .

And dont forget Crytek is making a exclusive for Xbox 360 :P

WTF Crytek :ack: , Far Cry and Crysis & Warhead such a detailed graphics options , this doesn't even had a advanced option. :thumbdown: , pretty much shows its a console port with updated stuff. :spank:

what the *bleep*'s the point of playing crysis without suit powers?

Especially Crysis 2 MP which is nothing but COD with suit powers. :ko:

Its actually a FAR better idea than having gazillion of options and confusing people who aren't familiar with the engine....the persons who are familiar with the engine don't even use the ingame options, instead they use the console commands. I myself don't even go into the options menu to change the settings in Crysis, rather simply punch in the command for the desired effect as its far more flexible than choosing from the pre-sets available in options. By limiting the pre-sets to 3-4, they can provide the best balance for that particular setting. Also if you take notice then you'll see that the gap between low and high is of a far smaller magnitude than it was in Crysis/Warhead, so that further reduces the need of having tons of pre-sets.

Yeah I was hoping for one SP playthrough without suit power, but its MP only, which just makes it another CoD with pretty graphics.

1152*720

The blur is not due to sub HD resolution, the difference between 1152*720 and 1024*720 is far too minute to cause a blur that's noticeable to people, let alone being noticeable in a youtube video that runs at 960*540 at max. :lol:

The difference in sharpness can be contributed to the fact that the PS3 has a weaker hardware scaler compared to Xbox 360's, both games output at sub-HD resolution but since the 360 has a better scaler the image it outputs is a bit sharper.

Its also to be noted that the game itself looks blurrier than its supposed to be cause of the temporal AA solution Crytek is using....just compare Halo Reach to this and you'll see that Crysis 2 is the blurrier game, eventhough they both run at the same resolution its because of the fact that Crysis 2 is using a lot of things along with the temporal AA that causes the image to have a subtle amount of blur. People have also been observing and coming to a conclusion that the PS3 version is doing some things 'extra' compared to the 360 version and it also has the correct color contrast like the PC version.

PS3 FOOTAGE

it looks lil blurry compared to 360 version (i guess its becoz of sub-hd 1024 x 720 reso....) plus minor texture pop-ups here nd there.....

buy it, only if you don't own a 360 or good gaming PC :)

:rofl:

360 version looks less blurry even in you tube videos...No pop-ups in 360 version...

Thanks for pointing it out, I would have never noticed otherwise.
