Aftrunner
Excluding monitor/Speakers? You can make a PC that will play games but dont expect it to be able to play stuff on anything more than medium.

I dont mind playing on medium as long as I can play my favorite games. Can you suggest a config for me?
Aftrunner
CPU: AMD Athlon II x4 635 Motherboard: Biostar TA785G3 HDD: 500GB RAM: 2GB GPU: 9600 512 MB Cabinet: Anything around 1k PSU: Gigabyte 460W Add any DVD drive with a Keyboard/Mouse combo and it should come to about 22k or so. You can swap out the HDD for a smaller 250 GB version to save another 1k or so. But whatever you do, do not compromise and buy a cheap PSU. This should (ideally) be able to play almost all games on medium-high without any problems. Edited February 23, 2010 by Aftrunner

Aftrunner
For your budget, the choices are pretty limited TBH. If you had another 10k (or a budget of 30k total) to play around with there would have been a bit more breathing room but as it is I think thats pretty much the best bang for your buck. Alright, Thanks Would the above config play MW2?
Aftrunner
Most def. MW2 isnt the most demanding of games. It should be easily playable at high and will look a lot better than either one of the console versions. Think of it this way. That rig will play any game released for the PS3/Xbox 360 with ease and will play most of those games at high or at least medium high. With the exception of GTA but that was just a shitty port. TAG
What would you suggest for a 30k budget (excluding monitor)
Aftrunner
^^Keep the CPU and Mobo from the above rig (both of them are really good VFM). Put 4GB RAM in there. Change the GPU to a GTS 250 or a GTX 260 (depending on budget) and up the PSU to a 550W. Also get a bigger HDD. So ideally this is what you will be looking at - CPU: AMD Athlon II x4 635 Motherboard: Biostar TA785G3 HDD: 1TB RAM: 4GB GPU: 250 GTS 1GB or GTX 260 (for an extra 3k) Cabinet: Anything around 1k PSU: CM 550W. If you want to go Intel you can get this (stolen from TE with minor changes) - Processor Core i-3 530 (2.93Ghz, 4MB Cache) Motherboard Intel DH55TC RAM 2GB 1333MHz Kingston DDRIII RAM HDD 1TB GPU 250 GTS 1GB or GTX 260 (for an extra 3k) Cabinet CM Elite 310 PSU/SMPS CM 550W ODD LG/Samsung/Sony DVD-Writer 22xD This should also come out to be 30k or so. Sharath N
I dont exactly need a gaming pc.. But a system which will run windows7 and need it to play movies.. I want to spend around 15k.. U can get a lower end Intel C2D and a decent motherboard. RAM u have to decide whether u wanna stick with ddr2 or move on to next gen ddr3 (obv. a little higher price now but will become less gradually) and a 500 gb hdd. SO somewhere like - Proccy - 3-4 k (u can go for C2D E7300..must be somewhere around 5.5k max.) - mobo - 3k (lower end models of gigabye or asrock) - hdd - 2.5 k - Ram - 2gb ddr2 ~~1k - cabinet + psu - 1.5 -2 k
Madmage
Thats around 12k.. I can probably go for ddr3 ram right with a 15k budget?
Aftrunner
For DDR3 Ram you will need a new motherboard. Stick with DDR2. You can invest the remaining cash in a good PSU. Or a mid range GPU.
Madmage
Oh awrite.. Maybe I can do that.. I shall add a graphic card so that i can play dibalo3 and stafcraft
Aftrunner
PSU should be a higher priority than a GPU. With a good PSU you can put in a new GPU whenever you have spare cash lying around in the future. I'd say get a better PSU and a motherboard with an onboard GPU which will let you play most RTS's and Valve games.
Phoenix Wright
Just stretch that budget a little, and go for an AMD, IMO. Something like this: Phenom II X2 550 3.1ghz - 4.8k MSI - 785GM - 5k Corsair 2GB DDR3 1333 - 3k Random cabinet - 1-2k Corsair 450W PSU - 3.8k Random HDD - w/e And if you can spend 1.5k on top of that, get a Phenom II X3 720. Both these setups should cruise a 1080p video, and will be able to post-process 720p videos.
