Phoenix Wright
He did say Price no bar, but that doesn't mean you suggest a $1k proccy which is not worth it at all! I don't think it's $1k anymore, lol. Thanks and approx price of this??Which one is better dude?? And how much approx for these specs?? Alright, you did say price no bar, but how much are you realistically willing to spend? The three things I posted could easily total around a lakh or so. Phoenix Wright
So you're going to be upgrading the proccy, mobo and GPU only? Do you already have DDR3 RAM?

Actually sorry, I am building an entire new gaming PC on this budget of upto Rs 55,000 Need a new TFT monitor as well, so if you can suggest one of those as well
Superfrag
@ PW, the i7 975 costs $970, pretty much near $1k. The total cost of my config with the gtx 470/gigabyte x58 comes upto 55-60k. If you remove the RAM, it will reduce by 8-10k. Ok, you want the whole PC in 55k, and the monitor is not included in the 55k right? Edited March 27, 2010 by Superfrag

Superfrag
Then you need to go for i5 or AMD phenom. Which is your choice.
Aftrunner
Posted this a couple of pages back - CPU: AMD Athlon II x4 635Motherboard: Biostar TA785G3 HDD: 1TB RAM: 4GB GPU: 250 GTS 1GB or GTX 260 (for an extra 3k) Cabinet: Anything around 1k PSU: CM 550W. If you want to go Intel you can get this (stolen from TE with minor changes) - Processor Core i-3 530 (2.93Ghz, 4MB Cache) Motherboard Intel DH55TC RAM 2GB 1333MHz Kingston DDRIII RAM HDD 1TB GPU 250 GTS 1GB or GTX 260 (for an extra 3k) Cabinet CM Elite 310 PSU/SMPS CM 550W ODD LG/Samsung/Sony DVD-Writer 22xD Both the rigs come around to 30-35k. Swap the PSU for something with a bit more meat. And swap the GPU for something DX 11 (How much does a 5850 retail for?). That should get you to 45k ish. Spend the other 10k on any decent monitor. Pushy
with 55000, u can easily cut off the high end stuff
Aftrunner
Yeah but most of the high end is a waste of money for gaming and normal usage. Unless you have multiple monitors etc 55k is a very decent budget to build a good gaming rig that will last a while.
Superfrag
Yeah, I doubt there will be difference between i3 or i5 at same speeds in gaming. Lemme check the Indian prices, I'm only aware of the US prices.
ricky87
Thanks guys And which is better, AMD based system or Intel one?
Aftrunner
I'd go for Intel if I were you. i5 if your budget permits. Else i3. The difference between the two isnt that significant anyway.

Aftrunner
@pushy And you can also build a config with a solid state HDD, 16GB RAM etc etc and yes it also wont fit into 55k. Do you have a point? In reality everyone works with a budget. And 55k is a good budget to build a gaming rig.
