Phoenix Wright
^ Yeah, he can pick and choose which cabinet he wants depending on what prices he gets on components. Planning to upgrade my PC next month. Idea is to try and future proof it for quite some time ahead. here is what i have currently and have a budget of 30 k in mind (hopefully i can trade in some of the exisiting stuff and get about 5-7k more) also want to surely get windows 7 included in the 30k what do you guys suggest? You need a bigger budget, bro. Future proofing won't happen with that much. Especially not if you want to include Windows 7 in the thing. Phoenix Wright
Fixed. But I am thinking on HD 5750, read somewhere, 90 % of 5770 performance and is also cheaper. Plus maybe a little better PSU like COrsair 600 W?? You don't need that kinda PSU for that rig. And don't go for the 5750. The 5770 is the lowest you should go. I just wanted to ask, Why not go for the AMD x4 with a good mobo, and the same ram. The cost will remain the same, but you get a slightly slower proccy, but two extra cores. The i5 750 is quad-core. If i get a AMD, I would need a AMD mobo as well, its kind of like darkside for me, have always been on intel and nvidia, thats why i was earlier saying no to ATI but now I'll go for a ATI card for first time. CarbonCore
i5 750 - 10kGigabyte GA-P55-US3L - 7k 4GB DDR3 Dual-channel RAM - 6.5k ATi HD5770 - 10k Corsair VX450W - 3.8k 1TB HDD - 4k Random DVD Drive - 1k Cooler Master Gladiator 600 (just to be sure) - 4k Total - 46k. Perfect. Pretty much what I had in mind, 'cept graphics card. Gonna wait till 5850 drops to 10-11k or 5870 to 16-17k. Also for case, going for Antec 300 and maybe add Corsair H50 water cooler and run it at 3.8-4 Ghz.
maxus
investing in a high end card is definately a wastage of money. First of all in order to take full advantage of a high end card like HD5970 one should have atlest 30" monitor to run the specs in full 2560x1600 resolution. moreover one needs a high end cpu and psu to support such a monster. If you are running a core i5 with 4gb ddr3 with dell 24" then HD5870 is more than enough...though it can easily handle HD5970...its wastage of enormous power. the prices of highend gpu hardly falls but at the end of the year u'll find another gpu taking its place. Xtreme cards are very powerhungry too..and tx650 or 750 from corsair is always better choice. At the moment when another brand is going to launch their gpu's in a month..i think investing in high end card is a folly. according to reviews MSI r5870 with corsair 650 watt psu is a great choice. If going for mid range gaming pc always go for AMD processors coz u'll get the best processor at that price point...invest more in a graphics card than in a fancy cabby...i think CM690 is a great case..though it is solely ur choice...for lcd u must choose something with good resolution and below 5ms response time. Aftrunner
Get a 5850, 600W PSU, 1TB HDD and any decent cabinet and DVD drive. Or wait for a month and see what price the Nvidia Fermi launches at. BR is a waste for the PC. Esp as you already have a PS3. And even if you didnt its still a waste. Unless you are building a very good HTPC and are gonna connect it to a 40+inch display.
