Mr.HaPPineSS
Core i5 4690 GIGABYTE B85M-D3H 4GB x2 1866MHz RAM 1TB hard-drive Seasonic S12II 520W Cooler Master N200 Config was suggested by Alpha. This is what I am getting next week. Looking for a bit of guidance on a few things. Is there any specific GHZ I should choose on the processor ? I have a old netgear adapter that is what it is called I guess (The wifi thingy in my cpu to connect to the internet) not sure on how to find the model number of it. As I would like to know if that could still be fitted with my new cpu ? My HDD is ST3500418AS ATA Device(500 gb) Would like to know if that could still be fitted with my new cpu ? The Ram which brand to buy ? The HDD 1TB which brand to buy ? Wipro Emerge 500 special UPS this is the UPS I own at the moment would this be enough to support the machine ? I have an Invertor at my home to which the UPS line is also connected. I use the Ups just as for a second for the invertor to kick in when the power goes. And for the Ram and the HDD I am looking for something which wouldnt hickup as this is gonna be used for a quite a long time. Finally I am getting this in Chennai. Looking for suggestions to where I can buy I know the IT depot Looking for a few more shops to get the quote and to make my decision Thanks a ton in advance
ALPHA17
Is there any specific GHZ I should choose on the processor ? No the model has only a fixed clock speed and boost frequency on it (3.5GHz <-->3.9GHz). I have a old netgear adapter that is what it is called I guess (The wifi thingy in my cpu to connect to the internet) not sure on how to find the model number of it. As I would like to know if that could still be fitted with my new cpu ? The product should have its model and Serial No. mentioned on its body, so, search for those and find out the details. If it is a USB adapter it would function fine with a driver update. My HDD is ST3500418AS ATA Device(500 gb) Would like to know if that could still be fitted with my new cpu ? The HDD 1TB which brand to buy ? It is a SATA device, should function fine. For the 1TB hard-drive, go for Western Digital Blue Edition. The Ram which brand to buy ? And for the Ram and the HDD I am looking for something which wouldnt hickup as this is gonna be used for a quite a long time. I would say Corsair or G.Skill RAM. No one can guarantee you the life-span of the product, suffice to say, these are reliable brands. Hope this helps, Cheerio!

Mr.HaPPineSS
Which GPU u are getting ? opps forgot to mention it Nvidia 970 Thinking on getting the ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4 GB. Looking for people to help out on the following still Wipro Emerge 500 special UPS this is the UPS I own at the moment would this be enough to support the machine ? I have an Invertor at my home to which the UPS line is also connected. I use the Ups just as for a second for the invertor to kick in when the power goes. Also what difference is the ram mhz gonna make ? 1866MHz as I can see higher mhz than this also but as a single 8gb model. Is it that if one ram chokes I could run my pc on another one for getting a 2* 4gb ram or any other reason ? Finally I am getting this in Chennai. ALPHA17
Thinking on getting the ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4 GB. Do not go for ZOTAC! Wipro Emerge 500 special UPS this is the UPS I own at the moment would this be enough to support the machine ? I have an Invertor at my home to which the UPS line is also connected. I use the Ups just as for a second for the invertor to kick in when the power goes. No, it won't sustain your PC on load. Maybe on idle but I am not comfortable with the idea of having such a powerful PC let down by a UPS of all things. Also what difference is the ram mhz gonna make ? 1866MHz as I can see higher mhz than this also but as a single 8gb model. Is it that if one ram chokes I could run my pc on another one for getting a 2* 4gb ram or any other reason ? 1866MHz RAM will not run by default on an Intel Haswell RIG, you will need to over-clock the processor to get the most out of the system. All in all though, the faster memory will be in good stead for the coming years.

ALPHA17
So which one should I buy for the 970? MSi or ASUS in my opinion. any suggestions for a cheaper ups as I wouldnt want it only for a second while the power fluctuates. It would be totally pointless to get a cheap replacement if it does not work out for your needs just like the current one you have on you. Get a 700VA / 800VA APC UPS. ALPHA17
So, am planning to purchase these from there. - GTX980 i7 3.5GHz Will these be compatible? And what MoBo should i go for? Yes, they will be compatible but can you please tell your total budget, that would be a much better than blindly suggesting a motherboard for that processor (which is overkill if you want to game). P.S. - Aim is to play Witcher 3 on Ultra (w/o uber sampling) if possible. Very frankly, cannot blindly say you will be able to play it with ULTRA, unless you can give me your total budget, what is your current set-up or what resolution would you like to play on with the screen size and other sundry details. Very frankly, cannot blindly say you will be able to play it with ULTRA, unless you can give me your total budget, what is your current set-up or what resolution would you like to play on with the screen size and other sundry details. I knew you would come and put a completely new spin on it! So here goes, I have a budget of about 1L to purchase GPU, MoBo, and Processor. And what to take advtg of cheaper rates in Europe before i come back home. I will start off with my older screen @ 1080p; but in a couple of months will move upto an UHD TV so want to be ready for gaming at a higher resolution. (when i mean Ultra for W3, thats with 1080 in mind). Current setup (abt 2 yrs old) - Corsair 8GB DDR3 i3 2100 ATI 6950 2GB (cant remember the MoBo) Coolermaster 650W Seagate 1 TB HDD (this is from memory, and may not be exactly correct) I am only planning to keep the power supply, RAM and HDD from the earlier setup
Big Boss
Coolermaster PSU not recommended. Change that too.
ALPHA17
Coolermaster 650W Which series is this one? A GX / Extreme Power / Thunder series SMPS would not cut it. I would suggest that you get the following components from the UK, Intel Core i5 4690 / Core i7 4790 (you can go for -k variant processors if you want to over-clock else stick with the vanilla variants) (motherboard purchase locally) 8GB / 16GB RAM kit from G.Skill or Corsair (preferable that you get 1866MHz or higher clocked memory or if you want you can re-use the current kit you have) GIGABYTE Windforce Edition GTX970's are much more viable purchase vis-á-vis the GTX980; if you are adamant about getting the GTX980, try to get the ASUS Strix Edition or MSi Gaming OC Edition Hope this helps, Cheerio! (when i mean Ultra for W3, thats with 1080 in mind). Cool, I think a GTX970 / GTX980 should manage to run the gauntlet if the game is decently tooled to run on PC's. What I am concerned is that resolutions over ~2560 x1440 are still not nVidia's playing field and are more or less dominated by either multi-GPU set-ups or AMD EyeFinity cards. So you might want to hold off purchasing a graphic card until AMD unveils its hand of R9-3** series cards early 2015.
