In the order of the listing,

DECENT

GOOD

USELESS (until you are into LED's and stuff I guess)

DECENT

Eh!

Your biggest issue is the board and the tower.

changed to AU and it goes up to $3000

:(

Yeah man, kept telling you folks to buy a PC. Nope. Now prices are rising again and you all want in.

You can go for the nzxt s340 elite .Much better looking than the S340 and has a front vr port (hdmi)

psu if possible change to corsair rmx 550 or 650

The Elite also adds a lot of extra costs that he could do without.

Be Quiet! makes better quality PSU's than Corsair.

Having owning the s340 my self the elite is better and worth the extra money any day.

Man the side pannel of 340 scratches if you just put a finger on it [emoji23]

In that case change the proc to i5 k varient and the gfx to 1070

Bad pairing nowadays, with Ryzen on the block makes zero sense to get a Core i5. The maximum frame numbers might not match up but minimums and frame time rates are much better on Ryzen.

Plus overclock ability and the scaling of every Ryzen CPU w.r.t. to faster RAM makes the Core i5 a very, very, very unsavoury deal in my books.

I just have a problem with the overall design of the S340, it was good three years back. But it does not offer sufficient airflow in my books plus if you have stuff like the Cooler Master MasterBox 5 why not get that because if you want to add more hard drives down the line at least the chassis has the scale to accommodate.

bringing down gfx to 1070, can I also bring psu to 550w or something?

I have an 8 year old jumping jack at home so scratches can't even escape on elite as well :P

Yes, you can get a good 550W modular PSU from eVGA or Seasonic and run a good system these days.

Naah! The S340 Elite has a tempered glass side panel, definitely more resilient than acrylic sheet windows. But again, for all the limitations that chassis imposes on you, no worth the price in my books.

Do you get Phantek's chassis in your region man, the P400 is definitely something I would look if not the MasterBox 5.

This is an AMD Ryzen build that I would suggest, certain components I could not find

  • For the GPU look up the ZOTAC! AMP! Edition GTX 1060
  • For the hard drive, instead of the 4 TB try to find a 2 TB equivalent
  • For the PSU get the eVGA Supernova G3 550W
  • Pick up the OS from a site like G2Play

Thanks guys. will ask around and do some ground work. :)

A quick search returned this result: https://www.pccasegear.com/category/25_1573/cases/phanteks-cases

so I think Phantek chasis is available. Supposedly, pscasegear is one of the most recognized online store here in Melbourne. People are pretty positive about their pre-built systems, that is why I started off with their link to check if I can get a good, hassle-free and future proofed system at a good price.

alpha and sonix: the configurations that you have mentioned are not overkill in terms of resolutions right? I am happy with 1080p till next year or so. Don't want to fall into 4k trap as yet. As long as graphics are not blurry, I am happy. I think you understand what I mean to say.

Nope, I have restricted my build to a GTX 1060, could have sacrificed a bit on the CPU end and tried to get a more powerful GPU but that defeats the purpose, rather you get a balanced system now and make changes to it as time goes.

The SSD will only boost the applications installed on it, so maximum Windows plus maybe one or two odd programs and games. For your query on the hard drive, how many PlayStation 4 games fit on a 500 GB drive these days?

The VX450W is a good PSU but also old in the tooth, that is why suggested you get a new PSU simply because I do not think it can take the stresses of a brand new system any more.

The VX is good stuff, unlike the recent VS you are confusing it with but yes also at least five years old thus needs to be replaced.

RAM prices have gone up thanks to smartphones and other smart devices. So yeah, that is why I flat out refused a build under ~50,000/-.

thanks again, I'll check the prices here at local market in blr. Also is 8GB enough ? Don't we need 16GB RAM ?

No ssd is for boot drive only

For gaming you at least need 500 gb ssd which will cost like 10k

Also get rid of that vx series asap

Also aaa games are like 40 50 gb these days . So make your choice

I am trying to keep things within budget, 16 GB of RAM will set you back by ~10,000/- or so, I have no problem recommending it but it takes a chunk out of your budget too.

I recommend going with 16 gb RAM honestly. Games have started taking advantage of it, but you can get by with 8 gb for now. Also it's one of the easiest components to add later if you want to keep things within a certain budget for your starting build. An SSD however is pretty much mandatory these days. At least get one for your OS drive.

Or spend that 2k on a good 4K TV and continue playing games on ps4 pro and save for Xbox scorpio, that itself will be a high powered pc for around d 500$

All that power with no games to play

Why not all multi platform games, except ps exclusives which he won't get on PC too. I would any day pick a scorpio with UHD drive for 1/4th of cost. Edited by AtheK

It is all Microsoft's claims for now. I will believe the Scorpio when it releases and then see everyone's faces run red when two years later a new dabba shows up which trounces that and the PlayStation Pro .
