Why not all multi platform games, except ps exclusives which he won't get on PC too. I would any day pick a scorpio with UHD drive for 1/4th of cost.

Do you think the devs will squeeze the extra horsepower for the multi plats on Scorpio ?

Ps4 has a larger base so my guess common games will look the same on both plats maybe a here and there upgrade a little.

But if Sony drops the price of pro to 350 bucks it's a dead console even before it hits the shelf

It is all Microsoft's claims for now. I will believe the Scorpio when it releases and then see everyone's faces run red when two years later a new dabba shows up which trounces that and the PlayStation Pro .

Who cares spend 200$ for an upgrade and done. I was an avid pc gamer but with time the gap has really decreased. I would suggest to wait till E3, and see how things shape up.

Again he can buy a ps4 pro then, again discussion is whether to invest 2k on a Pc or not, not on PS vs Xbox.

I would a year pick a hdr enabled TV rather spending a fortune on PC today.

No one is bothered to develop for the extra power of the Pro consoles. They are just there because they know for ~$200 price increase they can change a component that,

  • Is constrained by the rest of the hardware
  • Will not shine in its entirety even till the end times
  • Allows them to maintain a margin without giving much in return

I would like to see that gap decrease rather than just believe a company's word. A company that has till now the most moronic approach to gaming this generation, only really trying things because their competition has flayed them alive.

PC Gaming vs Consoles, the cost, ease of use etc. is a never-ending debate but here are my 2 cents on the matter...

PC gaming is more than just playing games. Building and maintaining a PC is a hobby in itself. The fact that you also get to play games on it (usually with better performance and visuals) is a bonus. Most enthusiasts are not even hardcore gamers. I've been building and playing games on the PC for almost 17 years now and it's unlikely that I'll ever move on. If however gaming is your only objective and all you're interested in are big AAA games then you'd be better off with a decent console setup.

In addition to a PC enthusiast, I'm also an avid gamer, and when it comes to games I really don't care on what platform I play them on (except mobile). I'm someone who'd happily spend 100 hours playing Persona 5 on the PS4 and then spend another 100 hours playing Darkest Dungeon on PC. So for me games matter more than the platform.

In the end you have to ask yourself... do you prefer ease of use and are the games that matter to you mainly console-oriented? Are you someone who doesn't need a powerful PC for intensive but non-gaming tasks (photoshop, video/sound editing etc.)? Just get a console and a decent TV and enjoy.

Or do you like tinkering around, building and constantly tweaking something? Are you extremely particular about performance and want the best possible graphics? Do you like to have a vast library of games across various genres and be able to play games way past their "generation"? Well, get a PC. Like all enthusiast oriented stuff, PC gaming is an expensive hobby, and unlike consoles there's no limit to how much you can spend here. You can put together a modest setup or go all out.

I really don't think one is strictly better than the other and the debate will never end, however I'll just say, check your priorities and preferences and decide accordingly.

Exactly if you are thinking let's us build a Pc and forget it for next 5 year, nope never gonna happen. Fun is selling old parts at right time and replacing them with the new one at a fraction of cost and stay updated.

Ya, that's what I was thinking. The best of part of upgrading PC is the research involved [emoji14]

Also does sp road still stack the cheapest tech components in blr ?

will a single 1080 ti will be enough for 4k @ 60 fps? My tv supports 60 hz refresh rate only. @Joe Cool

P.S. i have checked the difference between the monitor and tv. the only difference is display lag. on my tv display lag is average i think it's around 30-40ms. I am not looking to go beyond 60 fps anyway. But need a bigger screen to play. hence tv.

30-40ms is a lot.  The general cutoff is 8ms. 16ms max. 24ms is pushing. You will start noticing lag and don't even think about online games.

GTX 1080Ti is enough to play games at 4K.

SLI is not always 2X power. The scaling varies from game to game. Some have good scaling (like Tomb Raider) while others have 0 to negative scaling (Hitman).

Second, not every game has SLI profile readily available. Like old games for example.

The value for the second card you will be getting will be an average of ~5-10fps at best, which can be achieved by other means.
