Ankitgahlot
@Joe Cool i understand that display lag number of my current tv is not good. but previously i used to game on a tv which had an unknown display lag. So the current one is surely an upgrade. But if it comes to screen tearing then i will buy a new monitor or replace the current tv with a better one. But currently i am not concerned about a screen. Must have a 4k gaming PC is a first. I heard about this SLI thing but wasn't sure about it. Thanx man you helped me save 68k. Anything else you will recommend ? Heaven Angel
You need to post your TV model if you want more details. You want a TV that outputs in 60hz at 4k. Some TVs are 4K at 30hz. Personally, I still prefer monitor over TV but can understand the experience of playing on a bigger screen. Hope you are setting few feets away. As for the SLI and strictly for gaming, I don't see the worth, mainly on such an high-end card. Save it for now. In case if you plan to upgrade down the line, you can get a 2nd card or a new GPU. As for the setup: Intel i7-7700 (K if you plan to OC) or AMD equivalent. ASUS Maximus IX Hero / MSI Z270 SLI PLUS 2x8GB DD4 3200Mhz. 3600Mhz if you can. GTX 1080 Ti - I personally prefer ASUS. Samsung 960 250GB NVme SSD 2-4TB WD Blue HDD Corsair RM650x / EVGA 650 G1 NZXT S340 Elite or a case of your choice. Heatsink down the line if required. Should cost around ~1400 to 1700 USD. Ankitgahlot
I have a tv which takes an input of 4k @ 60 hz. Let's drop this tv topic altogether. About the setup i really don't want to change the processor. As ryzen 5 1600x is a 6 core 12 thread cpu and cost ₹4-5k less than 7700k which is ₹23k and a 4 core 8 thread cpu. I also read that most games are playable at 4 cores 8 threads. And on 4k resolution the cores does not even matter as long as you have a minimum 4 core 8 thread cpu. As the load is on the gpu, i checked some 4k benchmarks of some games as well and found out that i7-7700k and ryzen 5 1600x performed almost equally or ryzen 5 1600x outperforming i7-7700. Ryzen 5 support ddr4-3200 memory. So i think 3600 may not be supported. Right? I will consider your mobo inputs and will get back to you. I chose gigabyte because it has dual bios design. The rest ssd, hdd, mouse and keyboard i have that. Might have to check the PSU again. 650W will be enough? (Sorry this is my first gaming build, i used to be play on console before) Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
AtheK
yup drop the plan if SLI, save that cash, and use it after 2 years to upgrade the GPU again to the best available at that time, will still save you money.
Ankitgahlot
So one gtx 1080 ti will be able to give me 60+ fps consistently? Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk

You can pick either. I'm more of an Intel person. 34 minutes ago, Ankitgahlot said: Ryzen 5 support ddr4-3200 memory. So i think 3600 may not be supported. Right? Run at 2933/3200Mhz RAM for Ryzen. 35 minutes ago, Ankitgahlot said: I will consider your mobo inputs and will get back to you. I chose gigabyte because it has dual bios design. Of course. It comes down to personal preference. I've been using ASUS for a long time and so I pick those over others. Little expensive but find it worthy. You can go with Gigabyte too. Nothing wrong. 36 minutes ago, Ankitgahlot said: 650W will be enough? Yes. 650W is enough. 12 minutes ago, Ankitgahlot said: So one gtx 1080 ti will be able to give me 60+ fps consistently? Most games, yes, unless they are poorly optimised or you go crazy with AA and settings.

Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk Majority, and if the game is Poorly optimized, even SLI won't gurantee you that. ANything above 30 FPS is playable, 60 FPS is obviously great to have

Be sure to install Geforce Experience alongside the Nvidia driver. Inside the GE app, identify the game you wish to optimise. Select 3840x2160 as the preferred resolution and the GE app will suggest optimal settings for the smoothest 4K experience. When you click apply, GE automatically modifies the advanced graphics settings of the selected game. Note that these suggestions are slightly conservative, but not uniformly across all games. You could try increasing a few of the individual settings, atmost a single step, before running into significant performance drops. Ankitgahlot
@pixeljunkie as you can see i am not spending this much money to be on a conservative sides. I want everything maxed out but sure will try this if i run into any problems! Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk

I had a GTX760 before my RX480. One of the major reasons to pick up the AMD card was because of GeForce Experience asking me to create an account on nVidia for simply tweaking settings in a half decent UI. ALPHA17
Just now, pixeljunkie said: If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the RX 480? ~₹22,500/- for a custom HIS IceQX2 variant in October, just a couple days prior to demonetisation. You would be better served by getting a Sapphire NITRO+ RX580 now or a ZOTAC! AMP! Edition GTX1060 if you want to go green.

I think i'd rather wait until the Vega vs Volta war is in full swing.
ALPHA17
I do not think VEGA will amount to much, it was supposed to come up against the cream of Pascal. Volta I do not expect anytime soon and by that I mean a next year release window.
