Thought so. So here's what I could configure at 50k without monitor - I have the monitor and UPS and speakers. Prices are from primeabgb. I am assuming Nehru place prices might be slightly cheaper. The cabinet I have seems a bit underwhelming but I want a small cabinet. Need to add a DVD drive to this.

Palit GeForce GTX460 Sonic Graphic Card Rs. 14,500.00

Microsoft Combo Wired Desktop 600 USB Rs. 750.00

Gskill F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM Rs. 6,350.00

Intel® Desktop MotherBoard DH55TC Rs. 5,150.00

Coolermaster RC-430-KWN1 Chassis Rs. 2,750.00

Corsair Corsair TX650W Power Supply Rs. 6,760.00

Intel Core i5-760 Processor Rs. 10,250.00

Seagate Barracuda 1TB SATA 7200.12 SATA 3Gbs Rs. 3,250.00

Total: Rs. 49,760.00

Thoughts on this config?

That looks pretty good to me. I've pretty much the same config, except for some minor changes (I have a ATI 5850). Also, remember that H55TC mobo doesn't support IDE interface. So if you want to reuse your old IDE dvd r/w you can't.

SMC International has a site with prices - assuming those are Nehru Place prices. There is some difference from Bombay prices.

Why are you even looking at a 5830? Avoid that sh*t like the bubonic plague.

Also take the prices there (on the website) with a pinch of salt. Ground prices fluctuate almost every other day in NP so some are bound to be lower while others higher.

No no am staying away from it. Read the reviews. 460 1GB is the way to go with it's higher texture memory and excellent performance. If I can get my hands on that MSI card above, it should be a sweet deal. Is MSI better performance than Zotac?

What would be a comparable card in ATI - 5850?

MSI is better and yes 5850 is comparable card but sans PhysX and CUDA support and also the driver support is much inferior then that of Nvidia.

So just buy 460
