Hence, I'm bit inclined towards Phenom II. It costs atleast 3k less than i7. But I've never bought any AMD system, and I'm a bit skeptical. Since its just a difference of 3k, I was wondering if I should just buy i7 ! No need to worry about that... Just decide on a config and go for it... AMD and almost all their chipset providers have 3yrs warranty... I think its the same as Intel and anyways I have not heard about any particular problems associated with AMD... And also one piece of advice I give to you is that just fix a date for getting the PC and stick to it coz the prices keep falling down and better products will keep getting introduced... The PC which I bought 3 months ago can be assembled now for about 3 - 4k less... But it doesn't matter coz I won't have to upgrade for atleast 2 - 3 years... Including the monitor and speakers it cost me 63k when I bought it... I got it through a relative who is a dealer... You can maybe get a good processor and a good motherboard and maybe an average graphics card and SMPS for your budget and maybe upgrade your system after a couple of years when you have more cash... This way you can upgrade it whenever you feel that the graphics performance is not up to par and not end up overhauling your entire rig for it...
