Emo-Iwata
@ fatal frame,it's a shame this game is not getting released outside japan just because tecmo is reluctant to fix the control issues that was in the JP version. ut's not because it sold poorly either,it's the best selling game in the series in japan, which isn't much cos it did only a bit under 100k but still it was a success relatively speaking. IshmaelIsBack
Overall, Cursed Mountain is a unique game. I can imagine a lot of people being turned off by the initial slowness. However, if you give it a chance and manage to get drawn into the game, you’ll be immersed in a creepy and visually as well as acoustically very atmospheric world, driven on by an interesting story. If that’s the case you’ll overlook the sometimes lengthy passages and the repetitive enemies. If not, you’ll probably look for something more action oriented and chuck this game in a corner… maybe to pick it up a couple of years later. So this is definitely a ‘rent first’ game except if you’re a climbing freak quietly enjoying dark and mystical stories, as a part of the game happens in your mind. Score - B- These were the peeps who rated the original Yakuza a B- as well so I'd probably wait but the review is indeed worth a read.

MarketTantrik
Oh!! Harbinger of Hope. Edit: I like this part from the IGN review: I like the logical, believable construction of the world in Cursed Mountain. In a game like Resident Evil, you could very well step out of a decrepit village and right into a high-tech elevator leading to an underground military base -- sometimes it's just a little hard to swallow. But as Simmons explores temples, snowy mountain passes and icy caverns, the make-up of the levels blends together seamlessly and realistically. As he hikes, he's able to see his next major checkpoint high up in the distance on some cliffside path and when he finally gets there, he's able to look backward and take in the sprawling mountain, not to mention all of the locales he visited on the way, beneath him. This is also part of the reason I despise the new GI Joe movie.
Tyler
This is also part of the reason I despise the new GI Joe movie. So the cartoons never had underwater enemy bases? Or high tech bases located in ancient ruins/arctic/deserts? Also the Pit has always been an underground base (just not somewhere in Egypt) Sorry for the OT guys... Also the Pit has always been an underground base (just not somewhere in Egypt) Sorry for the OT guys... I'm not talking about the locations. Its the way the movie flowed. Or rather, the storyline broke up, thrashed about, rejoined, butted heads, whirlpooled, etc. that I despised. And that is over and above the terrible acting, lame dialogue, inane sub plots and crappy gfx.
Tyler
Hmm, alright. The only connection I found between the Cursed Mountain review excerpt and the G.I. Joe movie was "high-tech elevator leading to an underground military base -- sometimes it's just a little hard to swallow".

playstation
One Sad News...One Good news First start with Sad news. Cursed Mountain Developer ClosedA real horror story The studio behind Cursed Mountain has been shut down by parent company Koch Media. The game was Deep Silver Vienna's first piece of Wii software and is one of the few third-party titles that was backed by a healthy television advertisement campaign but, although there are no hard sales figures to go on, it is generally regarded that the game sold poorly. Koch Media have not cited poor sales of Cursed Mountain as a reason for the closure, simply stating that the “current overall economic situation” forced the decision. It is thought that the current employees of Deep Silver Vienna will be offered positions within Koch Media. Co-founder Hannes Seifert however, is rumoured to have now become production director at IO Interactive, according to his LinkedIn profile. We quite liked the game here at Nintendo Life and would like to wish all its staff good luck with the future. source Now for the good news Translated from German In August 2009 came the horror-action adventure game Cursed Mountain for the Nintendo Wii. Computer players so far looked into the tube. But now is gone, finally, the corresponding PC version at the start. Matching the release of them is now the associated trailer went online. The moving images convey (PC) fans a glimpse of the eerie atmosphere of the thriller. Cursed Mountain allows us to experience the bad trip of a climber Eric Simmons in the Himalayas. This sets off in search of his brother, who disappeared after a hiking trip on the Chomo Lonzo (7,540 meters) and has been regarded as lost. What was planned as a one-man rescue party proves to be very soon as a climb of horror. Armed with an ice pick Eric wanders through deserted, haunting mountain villages and find themselves now in a calamitous world of thought, surrounded by ominous pilgrims, Buddhist monks and demons again. The terrible visions always assume alarming proportions, and our main character becomes less and in the icy expanse of the climbers is so important for a sense of orientation. The opinions about the Wii version of Cursed Mountain were partly divergent. By Gamezone editor Andreas Keser the title was awarded in August, an "Average" overall score of 7.4 points or 74%. Further information you find on the official website for the game: http://cursedmountain.deepsilver.com/de/ source The game is available for pc on amazon.de not on any other site. i am going to get this game ....I must play this game.
