Castlevania : Lords of Shadow

Thanks about the exploring bit, I wanted to explore, but whichever path I chose, always was the correct one which progressed the game and then it blocked me from going back. But what I am already seeing is that this game has a good replay value, thanks to the level select option.

when we say explore it does not mean a rpg level explore. there are generally 2 or max 3 branching paths in a level. one would be the default path and another one would be where you go and get hidden gems. and you can go back and travel to any place, where you are allowed to go, with in a level even if you have bypassed the area.

In essence, try checking if u can go somewhere else than the camera is pointing you at; for example behind you. Ths is the common behavior i found for hidden items.

frankly i am not troubled about the fix camera. sometimes i even like that over manually adjustable camera, simply because in fixed camera set up, i have one less button to worry about when i am immersed in combat.

also in a fixed setup, the devs get more creativity as they can show you everything they want, with style. of course some expertise is needed in that.

did u also go back and get all the achievements and kill the you-know-whats in a specific time? I did them all except for one which is a bit more trickier than I thought. its whre you have to kill X amount of enemies in the air.

That is easy...you have to use a specific combo. :P

funny thing, i did none of them except the one you are referring to, kill 20 zombies while in air right ? :D

Whoa, the game improved a lot. The first "big" boss battle was fun, and the Light Magic powers added new depth to the combat.

This game and Vanquish were two gems released last year.

yet to play vanqish, but i seriously felt Bayonetta and Castlavania were the underdogs of last year

I need to go back and play it at some point just been too busy trying to improve my fighting stick expertise in SSF4 that ive forgotten about pretty much anything else. I know its a single combo but the painful part is just getting to that point and hearing that little munchkin spew stupid comments out of his mouth while u wait to get there

oh i love the chupacabra's comments :D

the part is you deal with it, get your stuff back wait for the zombies to appear/summon (dont hit the 2 gongs, the zombies will continue to come and swarm you till you hit them to open the door) and get around 3 dozen of them undead creatures and then go postal on them using the shadow magic.

lol i found the chuppacabra an interesting aside.... amongst all the killing this lil thing just wants to play around a bit...

brings out the human in u.... :)

Even I found Chuppacabra amusing. It was a pleasant diversion esp. when it taunts u with tht 'munni badnam' step :)

Finished the game today. It was pretty much fun overall. I didn't feel the game length was too much, it was just right for me :)

My rating: 8.5/10

+ve points:

-> Great combat system e.g. the sweet defence system, great combos etc.

-> Good puzzels: some puzzles were a bit weird but most of them were good.

-> Long game: Loved the game length

-> Good number of boss fights

-> Good replay value

-ve points:

-> Not that great graphics in some of the levels especially the beginning levels

-> Boss fights were good but most of them followed the same pattern

Waiting for the 1st DLC now, let's see if it's any good.

I was thinking of playing God of War series after this (I have already beaten GOW1 on PS2 earlier) but thought of taking a break from hack and slash now and will play RDR now (along with a bit of NFS: HP and LBP thrown in)

@monty: Forget everything else. Play RDR and then ME2.

ya, will start playing RDR from tomorrow :) I have LBP, Batman: A, GOW I & II after this
